3 Lucrative ways WWE could rival All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019
All Elite Wrestling has generated immense speculation since being introduced this month, (watch the video below). Who will join the roster? Could they rival WWE? These questions bring back memories of the past. It almost mirrors WCW and WWE during the Monday Night Wars. That war afforded shocking moments still talked about today.
Considering WWE and how they performed in 2018, the future must be different. With the success of the All In PPV, Cody and The Young Bucks could be troublesome for WWE. However, this depends on their roster. Presently, it is minimal. Who will sign with AEW? In 2019 a new era is supposed to begin. How will WWE hit back at their potential rival? Let's explore some options.
#3 Merge feuds between NXT, Raw, and SmackDown
Last year the NXT brand afforded excellent content. Fans witnessed the introduction of the NXT North American Championship. Moreover, the debuts of excellent wrestling characters, such as Matt Riddle and the majority of the NXT UK brand. Although the brand is standalone, it could be the saviour needed for WWE. Presently Raw and SmackDown have been lacklustre in entertainment value.
The talent within Raw and SmackDown is vast. The Raw brand includes notable talent such as; Finn Balor, Dolph Ziggler, and The Revival. Whereas, on SmackDown names include; Rusev, Andrade Cien Almas, and Gallows & Andersen. However, these wrestlers seem to lack direction. Recently matches have been repetitive, specifically on Raw, with Baron Corbin, (watch the video below). However, this changed with the prospect of new changes in recent weeks.
With the immense talent on all brands, there are great opportunities available. In recent months Tyler Breeze returned to NXT, to face Ricochet. Therefore, why not have others follow suit? Inter-brand feuds would improve ratings and refresh storylines. Moreover, with AEW in the midst, it could help WWE solidify their position, as the top promotion. A good example could be New Day versus Undisputed Era. It could happen between SmackDown and NXT.
