The WWE Royal Rumble has been synonymous with professional wrestling since 1988. Professional wrestling fans can watch WWE or not, but arguably every fan enjoys the WWE Royal Rumble match. Throughout the PPVs illustrious history there have been epic moments worth remembering.

At Royal Rumble 1994 Owen Hart turned on his brother Bret Hart. In 1999 Vince McMahon outlasted 29 other men to secure a victory. However, wrestlers themselves provide reasons to watch the match, notably Kofi Kingston and his anti-elimination tactics, (watch the video below).

This year both Royal Rumble matches are expected to generate immense drama. However, only a handful of participants have confirmed their entry. Nevertheless, the action is not just limited to the Rumble itself, with a notable match being Brock Lesnar versus Finn Balor.

If these three men won the Rumble, it would be surprising, but it would also be great.

#3 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe debuted in NXT and changed the brand's complexion. Suddenly the roster was motivated by the presence of this future legend. Nevertheless, on Raw and SmackDown Joe has yet to make an impact. However, with the Royal Rumble in mere days, what can we expect from Joe?

In recent weeks Joe has proven his value as a dominant figurehead in WWE. His attack on Mustafa Ali cemented his credibility, (watch the video below). Moreover, it generated intrigue. Therefore, during the Royal Rumble match more interaction is likely. Additionally, it would add to their feud. Perhaps Joe could eliminate Ali from the match.

The reason Joe would be a lucrative option to win the match is simple. Firstly, his vast experience could benefit a WrestleMania championship match. Secondly, Joe deserves a championship opportunity. However, most importantly Joe has connections with everyone who could end up being champion at Wrestlemania. Whether he faces AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar or Finn Balor, it would be epic.
