Batista was never an ordinary superstar, as he was fast-tracked to the top after a couple of initially failed gimmicks. His alliance with Triple H, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton to form Evolution is undoubtedly his most notable achievement in the world of wrestling, and he is still known as one of the biggest names in the industry.

In case you didn’t know, James Gunn is a famous Hollywood screenwriter and director, most famous for directing and/or writing many Marvel movies such as Thor, Doctor Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

In 2018, Gunn was fired from the project of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for old tweets joking about pedophilia and rape.

Batista, his castmate who has now worked on several projects together with Gunn, stood up in support of Gunn in the controversy and declared that if Disney did not use Gunn's script for the movie and reinstated him, he would quit and ask to be recast.

In March 2019, Gunn was reinstated by Disney as director of the film after meeting with Alan Horn, chairman of Walt Disney Studios, on multiple occasions. Batista, along with other cast members of the movie, played a huge role in the reinstatement of Gunn and rebuilding his reputation.
