3 Matches that could be added to Crown Jewel 2024 on WWE SmackDown

WWE Crown Jewel 2024 Premium Live Event is around the corner, and the sixth edition of the annual Saudi Arabia PLE is set to be a historic one. The top champions of the men's and the women's divisions of RAW and SmackDown will contest to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champions, while elsewhere, Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed will face off for the first time.

Interestingly, just over a week away from the event, only these three matches have been confirmed. Given the standard number of five matches on typical PLE cards in the Triple H era, at least two more matches are expected to be booked. With two cross-brands and one bout from RAW already made official, which clashes could be added on the upcoming episode of the blue brand.

Below are three matches that could be added to Crown Jewel 2024 on WWE SmackDown.

#3. A Triple Threat Match for the United States Championship could be set on WWE SmackDown

Reigning United States Champion LA Knight is set to act as the Special Guest Referee for Carmelo Hayes and Andrade's match on WWE SmackDown. The bout is set to be the seventh and final edition of their highly acclaimed series, with both personal pride and a potential shot at Knight's title at stake. With The Megastar right in the middle of it, there is bound to be contention no matter who wins.

This could perfectly set up a Triple Threat Match between Knight, Hayes, and Andrade for Crown Jewel 2024. Both challengers have already stepped up to The Megastar individually throughout their months-long saga, so a Triple Threat Match would be a natural escalation for this storyline. It is no less than all three superstars deserve after making a compelling spectacle out of a basic feud premise.

#2. Randy Orton could get a chance to exact revenge on Kevin Owens at WWE Crown Jewel 2024

Since turning against Cody Rhodes after Bad Blood 2024, Kevin Owens has arguably been the most compelling character on WWE SmackDown. The Prizefighter's issues with The American Nightmare are understandable, and his uncertain contract situation has added extra intrigue to the angle. Throw in the involvement of Randy Orton, and you have a potential late contender for storyline of the year.

Speaking of The Viper, he seems set to call out Triple H for a resolution to Owens' backstage attack on him on the October 18, 2024, episode of SmackDown. Given that Cody is occupied with a match against Gunther at Crown Jewel 2024, The Game's solution could be granting The Apex Predator a match against KO in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to give him a chance to exact revenge.

#1. WWE SmackDown could see Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa set for Crown Jewel 2024

Since his return at SummerSlam 2024, Roman Reigns has been after Solo Sikoa and the rest of The Bloodline, with little success. The Original Tribal Chief and his rival have faced off in multiple segments and seem headed for factional warfare at the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event, but they are yet to have a one-on-one match. Reigns teamed up with Cody Rhodes to defeat Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match at Bad Blood 2024, but that was just the beginning of their rivalry.

What is the next chapter of the story? Is it Reigns vs. Sikoa? Could it be Roman and Jimmy Uso vs. Solo and Jacob? Whether Triple H decides to go with the former or the latter, Crown Jewel 2024 seems like a good platform to feature it before a potential Men's WarGames Match at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. With eight days left until the Saudi Arabia show, it is now or never to make it official on the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown.
