3 mistakes WWE should not make with Pretty Deadly following SmackDown return

WWE Friday Night SmackDown was an extremely memorable show last night. As has often been the norm, it was The Bloodline who stole the show, especially in the final segment. Still, there were a few other notable moments too.

One such notable moment came during a backstage segment with the SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. He was speaking with The Street Profits' Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins along with B-Fab when they were interrupted by Pretty Deadly.

Kit Wilson and Elton Prince were away for months, but they were their usual energetic and over-the-top selves upon interrupting The Street Profits. This led to an argument, which has since been used to make a tag team match for next week between the two duos.

Now that Pretty Deadly is back, the company and Triple H in particular have a chance to utilize the pair properly and elevate them to the next level. If the goal is indeed to get Kit Wilson and Elton Prince elevated, however, there are key mistakes that must be avoided.

This article will look at some mistakes The Game must avoid making for the sake of the talented duo.

Below are three mistakes WWE should not make with Pretty Deadly following their SmackDown return:

#3. They must not be taken off programming any time soon

The booking of Pretty Deadly has been quite inconsistent since the pair of Kit Wilson and Elton Prince were called up to WWE's main roster in the 2023 Draft. This isn't entirely the company's fault, however.

An injury suffered early in their run forced the team to be out of action for around three months last year. They then returned, but the duo weren't quite featured as heavily as they were seemingly going to be prior to the injury. That isn't the only prolonged absence for the pair, however.

Three months ago, Kit Wilson and Elton Prince defeated Kevin Owens and Randy Orton in a fluke upset on WWE SmackDown. While it wasn't a clean win by any means, it was still massive. Despite that victory, however, the two didn't wrestle again on television for months.

Now that Pretty Deadly is back on SmackDown, Triple H must make sure to keep them on television consistently. The biggest kiss of death for any talent is stop-start pushes where they come and go before fans can grow a proper bond. Kit and Elton need to remain on TV.

#2. Triple H needs to make sure they don't lose too often

Winning and losing is often a debated subject in WWE and pro wrestling discourse. Some believe that wins and losses mean everything, while others will take the stance that they mean nothing. Like with most things, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Too many losses can hurt a team's credibility and Pretty Deadly need credibility right now. Given that they've missed around six months of the past year, wins are essential to make the duo a threat moving forward.

Kit Wilson and Elton Prince do not need to be world beaters who defeat everybody they face, but wins at first to re-establish the pair is a necessity. They can start being rebuilt by defeating Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins on Friday Night SmackDown next week. From there, a few more big wins could put them in WWE Tag Team Title contention.

#1. Pretty Deadly can't just be comedy figures in WWE

The last key thing Triple H and WWE need to avoid with Pretty Deadly is making the duo comedy figures. They are far too talented to be relegated to just "pick me up" matches and comedic segments.

This doesn't mean Pretty Deadly need to be serious. They are naturally charismatic and hilarious, so it makes sense for Triple H and WWE to capitalize on that. Still, they need to have an edge and, more importantly, they need to be able to get serious when the bell rings.

Chad Gable is a recent example of someone who can be funny until the bell sounds. Stars such as Edge, Christian, and Kurt Angle were masters at this. Pretty Deadly can do comedy, but they need to be presented as serious threats too. WWE must avoid just having them be silly without any credibility.
