3 potential WWE Bad Blood matches that should be added from SmackDown

As the next premium live event, Bad Blood is fast approaching, WWE has been filling in the match card for the event, which will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

For the time being, three matches have been announced, all coming from RAW. More specifically, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk will settle their rivalry inside Hell in a Cell, while Liv Morgan will put the Women's World Championship on the line against Rhea Ripley. On the other hand, Damian Priest will look to take revenge on Finn Balor for his betrayal at SummerSlam when the two collide at Bad Blood.

Meanwhile, the season premiere of SmackDown, where the Steel Cage Match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship will main event the show, is expected to shed more light on the blue brand's matches at the coming premium live event.

With that in mind, let's take a look at three matches that could be added to the Bad Blood Premium Live Event after Friday's episode of SmackDown.

#3. LA Knight vs. AJ Styles

AJ Styles has been away from WWE since his title match against Cody Rhodes at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event back in mid-June. WWE had teased his return, but we haven't seen him come back yet.

Thus, his return could happen this Friday on the blue brand's season premiere, and Styles could go after LA Knight and have a shot at the United States Championship.

The Phenomenal One has done a great job as a heel, while LA Knight is one of the top babyfaces. This will also be a rematch from WrestleMania 40, and it would help bring Styles back to the title picture.

#2. Nia Jax vs. Bayley

Despite her loss at SummerSlam, Bayley has maintained her momentum and now seeks a rematch against Nia Jax, where she will look to reclaim the Women's Championship.

This match could happen at Bad Blood and could create new angles within the storyline, which also features Ms. Money in the Bank, Tiffany Stratton.

#1. Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu

Cody Rhodes will put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Solo Sikoa on the season premiere episode of SmackDown as his rivalry with The Bloodline continues.

This match will take place inside a Steel Cage to avoid any outside interference from the faction. Should Cody retain, we should expect his next challenger to be Jacob Fatu.

Fatu has done a great job since moving to the main roster in June, and The American Nightmare has already taken a shot at him, telling him to step up and challenge for the title.

This is something we could see happening if Solo doesn't become champion this Friday night, as Sikoa will have to deal with Roman Reigns next. The Original Tribal Chief returned to WWE to start a feud with his former Enforcer, who took over the faction amid Reigns' four-month hiatus. Thus, a Rhodes vs. Fatu match at Bad Blood could be the next step for WWE in this rivalry.
