3 reasons why Big E is likely to return at WWE SummerSlam 2024
Big E is a name that the WWE Universe has not seen on a match card for quite a while. A fan favorite, whether he's in his wrestling gear or a fine suit, the former WWE Champion hasn't wrestled in more than two years. This is primarily due to the devastating neck injury he suffered, but there can be no denying that his presence has been missed.
It is safe to say that fans around the world would love to see Big E perform in the squared circle once again. However, as he continues to rehabilitate his injury, his return seems to be getting delayed further and further. It's now reached a point where many believe The New Day star will never don his iconic wrestling singlet ever again.
But what if we tell you otherwise? What if there is a chance that Big E makes a return very soon? Well, here are three reasons why he could make his return as early as SummerSlam 2024.
#3. The New Day needs some help with Karrion Kross and The Final Testament
Right now, as many of you know, The New Day is struggling to deal with The Final Testament. The tandem of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods just cannot survive the onslaught that Karrion Kross brings with him. So much so that it may result in a wedge driven between the two. This is where Big E can come in and save the day.
Bringing with him the Power of Positivity, the 38-year-old can help strengthen the weakening bonds of The New Day. With him at their side, Woods and Kingston will have renewed confidence and may even easily deal with Kross and his lackeys.
#2. Big E hinted that he might be ready for an in-ring return at Money in the Bank
Perhaps one of the most telling reasons that suggests Big E's return is imminent is what went down at Money in the Bank. During the Countdown show, where he was one of the presenters alongside Wade Barrett and Michael Cole, the 12-time champion gave the WWE Universe and the fans in attendance a little surprise.
Leaving the show briefly, E appeared in the Scotiabank Arena, where he treated fans to a suited-up rendition of his world-famous entrance. He encouraged Toronto, Canada, to once again "Feel the Power." Who knows? Maybe it was just a taste of what was to come. Maybe he is getting his vocal cords ready for an actual in-ring return.
#1. He deserves one last run before his inevitable retirement
While it would be great to see Big E back in the ring for the long run, the fact of the matter is that he has been advised against it. Doctors have told him that it would be better if he never wrestled again. This was undoubtedly a huge blow to E, who loves the WWE and its fans. But perhaps he can have one last, albeit short run before he retires.
His last match saw him team up with Kofi Kingston against Ridge Holland and Sheamus. It's true, they are no slouches, but history shouldn't show them as Big E's last opponents. A superstar of his caliber, who will undoubtedly one day be a Hall of Famer, deserves to go out with a bang. In other words, one final run to give both him and the WWE Universe some closure.
Then again, it's important to remember that this is all just speculation. Only time will tell what the future holds for him.
