3 reasons why Chad Gable was Uncle Howdy's victim on WWE RAW
WWE Monday Night RAW featured one of the most memorable and noteworthy conclusions of any wrestling show in history. A major moment went down after Jey Uso successfully defeated Finn Balor and Rey Mysterio in a Triple Threat Match.
The lights began going off and in what felt all too familiar, a door appeared on the stage along with smoke. Soon, The Wyatt Sicks, a new stable led by Uncle Howdy would appear. It wasn't just the five stars who caught the attention of fans, however, but the massacre they left in their wake.
Tons of people were seen battered, brutalized, and even bloodied in gorilla and the backstage area. While many of the faces are shrouded in darkness, one person was very blatantly a victim of this new stable: Chad Gable. He was bloody and clearly out of it.
Gable being a target of the group is a surprise to many, as there was seemingly no real reason for the attack. That isn't necessarily the case, however. This article will take a look at a handful of possible explanations for why Uncle Howdy and The Wyatt Sicks brutally assaulted the former Olympian.
Below are three reasons why Chad Gable was Uncle Howdy's victim on WWE RAW.
#3. Uncle Howdy may feel sympathy for Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri
One of the most compelling stories on WWE Monday Night RAW each week is the ongoing Alpha Academy saga. The stable was once united and things felt so innocent, but once Chad Gable turned heel, things quickly went off the rails and in a bad way.
Gable has grown increasingly disrespectful and cruel to his stablemates. Maxxine Dupri is regularly verbally berated while both Otis and Akira Tozawa have been subject to slaps and physicality in addition to the verbal abuse the former WWE RAW Tag Team Champion hurls their way.
While the trio was already well-liked by the audience, the treatment from Master Gable has caused the three superstars to be even more sympathetic and likable figures. Simply put: fans feel bad over Chad's abuse.
There is a chance that the mysterious Uncle Howdy and The Wyatt Sicks feel similarly. The group is littered with outcasts who have been shunned by society or even rejected by those close to them. They likely see Chad's bullying and feel offended by it.
#2. Chad Gable could've been in the wrong place at the wrong time on WWE RAW
Not much is known about The Wyatt Sicks yet. The group invaded WWE Monday Night RAW and all we really can gather is the five members involved with the faction. These stars include Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, and Uncle Howdy.
Beyond those involved and the massacre they brought to WWE Monday Night RAW, their motivations still aren't completely clear. Some of the videos and documents from the White Rabbit-like campaign hinted at their goals, but nothing has actually been clarified or made clear as of yet.
This means it is impossible to determine if Chad Gable was actually a target or not. Instead, the former NXT Tag Team Champion may have simply been a victim of timing.
There is a chance that the menacing stable was plowing their way through the gorilla position and the backstage area when Gable happened to be there. As a result, he could've fallen victim to their attack just by being within the proximity of where it all went down. The assault may not have been personal at all.
#1. Uncle Howdy and The Wyatt Sicks may take family seriously
The Wyatt Sicks is clearly a branch of The Wyatt Family. That stable, led by Bray Wyatt and also featuring Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Braun Strowman, and at times, other performers, was one of the best factions in WWE history.
As the name suggests, it was treated as if the members in the group were family. The Wyatt Sicks is likely going in the same direction, both because Uncle Howdy legitimately is family of the late-great Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan was a member of the aforementioned Wyatt Family stable.
Along with the verbiage used in a lot of the haunting previews, it is easy to imagine that Uncle Howdy believes in a family dynamic, even if those involved aren't blood. This feeling could be exactly why Gable got attacked.
Chad hasn't been treating Akira, Maxxine, and Otis like family. He claims they're family, but his actions are abusive and cruel. If family is important to Uncle Howdy, Gable's behavior and treatment of his alleged inner circle would absolutely disgust the former NXT Champion. This very well could be the reason for the brutal attack.
