3 reasons why Finn Balor is in cahoots with Liv Morgan

Since Rhea Ripley has been out of action due to injury, Liv Morgan has looked to take everything that the Australian holds dear.

First, she won the Women's World Championship, the title that Ripley had to vacate. She has also looked to get her claws into Ripley's squeeze Dominik Mysterio in recent weeks.

Another foundation of Rhea's power is her faction, The Judgment Day, which currently consists of Mysterio, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed on RAW this week that after Morgan gave her hotel room key to Dominik, Finn sneakily put the card in his pocket, suggesting that he may be looking to align with the new Women's World Champion.

Join us as we take a look at three reasons why Finn Balor and Liv Morgan have already joined forces behind the backs of the WWE fans and The Judgment Day.

#3 - Liv Morgan and Finn Balor were once allies

While Finn Balor has firmly cemented himself as a part of The Judgment Day for the last two years, he originally looked to tear it down when it began, as he, AJ Styles, and Liv Morgan teamed up at Hell in a Cell 2022.

In addition to teaming with AJ Styles, Liv Morgan, who was looking to take the next step in her WWE career at the time, stated why it was so special to work with veterans like Balor and Styles while speaking to the New York Post:

"Their level of comfort. They’re just always ready to go. They’re calm before they wrestle, while I’m like pacing the hall back and forth and I’m like, ‘Guys, guys.’ I’m so excited. They think it’s cute, they think it’s funny. Their composure — they compose themselves in a completely different manner than I do. They’ve wrestled way longer than I have. They have a bag of skills that I don’t even know about."

After being unsuccessful in their match at the time, Balor would join the faction on the following RAW, leading to the beginning of the group as we know it today.

Given their shared history as a team, do not be surprised if Finn Balor and Liv Morgan join forces once again as they look to bring down The Judgment Day from the inside.

#2 - The Prince wants to be the one to lead one of WWE's biggest factions

One of The Judgment Day's biggest mantras has been that the group has no leader, with Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, and Damian Priest all taking the reins from time to time.

During an interview with Fightful, Balor revealed why the group has been successful and how they all managed to gel so well together.

“I think everyone had a little bit of a chip on their shoulder right before going into this storyline or this faction,” Finn Balor said. “We all had a point to prove, not only to the world and to the office, but to ourselves, to say we are the real deal and we belong."

While the group had no de facto leader after the departure of Edge, in recent months, Ripley and Priest seemingly declared themselves the faction's top dogs, with both stars' World Championship reigns establishing them at the top of the pecking order.

This may not sit well with Finn, given that he is a former Universal Champion as well as one of the most talented performers in the company. He may look to leave the group and join Liv Morgan in order to be seen as the leader of his own group.

#1 - Finn's choices have been questioned by Priest

During his time in The Judgment Day, Balor has struggled to get the people he wants into the group, most notably JD McDongh, who was greatly shunned by Priest and Ripley when Balor wanted his fellow Irishman in the faction.

Having started their wrestling journeys in their native Ireland, JD has looked up to Finn for many years. Speaking to TV Insider in 2020, McDonagh explained why he admires Balor so much.

"He was the person I most aspired to be like. He was always the guy I wanted to measure up to and up with. He went from Ireland to Japan to train, as did I. He went to New Japan Pro Wrestling. I went to Zero-One. He went to the States and WWE. I was a couple of years behind him when WWE signed me. We've been running the same path for a long time."

Despite Balor and JD's friendship, Priest was hesitant for him to join the group, which led to clear friction between Finn and Damian.

This friction has never really gone away, and with Balor now seemingly meeting with Liv Morgan on the side, the former Universal Champion may look to bring McDonagh along with him to a potential new faction away from The Judgment Day.
