3 Reasons why Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turned on Big E on WWE RAW

During the latest episode of WWE RAW, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods shocked the wrestling fraternity with an unexpected heel turn against Big E. The 10th anniversary of The New Day did not bode well for its absent third member, Big E.

At the start of the segment, it seemed that Kingston and Woods were set to announce their decision to split up after weeks of tension within the tag team, with the last nail in the coffin seemingly being last week's episode where they blasted each other. However, Big E made a surprise appearance, confronting his longtime teammates and trying to mend bridges. He even offered his managerial services until the group could resolve their issues and he was cleared for an in-ring return.

In a shocking turn of events, The New Day members betrayed Big E, verbally lashing out and ordering him to stay away from them.

In this article, we will explore three reasons why Kofi and Xavier turned on Big E on WWE RAW.

#3. Big E was not there when Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods needed him

One of the primary reasons behind Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods' disdain for Big E was his absence during their most challenging times.

The former King of the Ring winner even highlighted this during the angle. Kofi and Woods also pointed out that while they were struggling and clashing over the past few weeks, Big E was too comfortable in his desk job and his new life.

However, Big E only showed when their relationship had completely deteriorated. They pinpointed this lack of support as the main reason for their dislike of E.

#2. The New Day members believe Big E was selfish

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were also not pleased with the former WWE Champion's continued absence while the group was in tatters. They highlighted the fact that E was comfortable in his new backstage roles in the company and did not show any interest in helping out the group when they needed him most.

They also criticized him for his WWE Title reign, arguing that it was only possible because of their unwavering support. The stars took things one step further and stated that E was busy focusing on a new romantic relationship amid the group’s internal chaos.

The stars hinted that the PLE pre-show and post-show panelist was self-centered and did not have the interests of the group at heart.

#1. WWE probably wanted a heel run for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods as a tag team

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods's harsh words did not gain them any favors from the crowd as those in attendance booed them incessantly. The stars were decimating Big E, whose last appearance during any live event was well over two years ago. The crowd, which was solely behind the former WWE Champion, did not take to the betrayal, thereby, cementing the multi-time tag team champions as heels.

It seems Chief Creative Officer Triple H aims to make the storyline more personal by centering the betrayal around their strained relationship with Big E.

The heel turn feels justified, as it highlights their frustration with Big E’s absence when they needed him most.
