3 Reasons why Roman Reigns rejected a reunion with Jey Uso on WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso were outnumbered in the latest edition of WWE SmackDown when The Bloodline, which consists of Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, destroyed them during the closing moments of the show. Earlier in the episode, The Original Tribal Chief and Jimmy engaged in a segment in which the latter proposed the idea of reuniting with Jey Uso, believing that they needed him to combat Sikoa's faction.

However, this idea was firmly rejected by The Original Tribal Chief, who responded with a resounding "No Yeet!" In this article, we will discuss three reasons why Roman Reigns turned down the proposal to reunite with his former Right Hand Man.

#3. Roman Reigns has still not forgotten that Jey Uso betrayed him

Jey Uso was the one who stepped away from The Bloodline and chose to betray Roman Reigns during his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign, an act that The Original Tribal Chief likely has not forgotten. This lingering resentment could explain why The Head of the Table remains angry with The Yeet Master and is reluctant to reunite with him.

Although Jimmy Uso also betrayed Reigns at that time, he quickly reconciled with him. In contrast, Jey opted to distance himself from his family and moved to RAW to pursue a singles career. This history may revolve around Roman's mind, ultimately leading to his rejection of Jimmy's proposal for a reunion with Jey Uso.

#2. Roman Reigns does not believe that he needs Jey Uso to tackle the new Bloodline

Roman Reigns has been outnumbered by the new Bloodline since their heated feud began. However, with Jimmy Uso's blockbuster return at Bad Blood 2024, The Original Tribal Chief felt he finally had a backup in this war. When Jimmy expressed the need for Jey Uso in their fight against the new Bloodline, Roman outright rejected the idea of the reunion proposal with The Yeet Master.

Even during his partnership with Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline, Reigns insisted that he did not need The American Nightmare to handle his family matter. Given Jey's previous betrayal of Reigns, it is reasonable to assume that Roman harbors similar feelings toward the RAW Superstar as well.

#1. WWE wants to stretch The Bloodline storyline

This new chapter of The Bloodline Saga has just begun, and many developments are set to unfold in the coming weeks. This could explain why Roman Reigns rejected the idea of reuniting with Jey Uso, as WWE may want to extend The Bloodline storyline with this angle.

Currently, The Yeet Master holds the Intercontinental Championship on Monday Night RAW and may drop his title before eventually returning to the family drama which has been going on for a while now. WWE needs time to settle the title picture involving Jey, and by incorporating Roman's rejection, they create sufficient breathing room for this storyline.

Thus, buying enough time could also be a strategic reason behind WWE's decision to have Roman Reigns turn down the reunion proposal with Jey Uso.
