3 reasons why Sami Zayn should not leave WWE RAW to help Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns is back in WWE and fans couldn't be more excited. Despite being a heel when he left the Sports Entertainment juggernaut, The Tribal Chief's return has been highly anticipated for quite some time.
His return came at Summerslam 2024. Cody Rhodes put his world title on the line against Solo Sikoa in the main event, which was a Bloodline Rules Match. This led to interference and the odds were stacked against The American Nightmare. Thankfully, Roman took Solo out after being taunted for weeks.
Many believe that The Tribal Chief will now feud with Solo Sikoa and the remainder of the new Bloodline. There is also a belief that the old Bloodline will reunite to take on Sikoa's group. This includes Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and notably, Sami Zayn.
Zayn reuniting with Roman Reigns and potentially moving to SmackDown is a controversial choice, however. There are several reasons why The Underdog From The Underground should not make the move. This article will outline a handful of examples as to why Sami should avoid Reigns and remain on Monday Night RAW moving forward.
Below are three reasons why Sami Zayn should not leave WWE RAW to help Roman Reigns.
#3. Roman Reigns manipulated Sami Zayn and physically abused him
The first and most obvious reason why Sami Zayn moving to WWE Friday Night SmackDown to aid Roman Reigns against the new Bloodline is a mistake comes down to their past. The Tribal Chief was toxic, abusive, and downright cruel to The Underdog From The Underground.
While Roman treated others poorly, including Jey Uso, Sami Zayn got it as bad as anybody. This is despite the fact that the Canadian performer isn't even family. He joined as an Honorary Uce, took repeated beatings for The Tribal Chief, and got nothing but abuse in return.
Once Sami left the group, things became even worse. Roman and The Bloodline brutally assaulted Sami on multiple occasions and Reigns even talked trash to Zayn's wife at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023.
Given their past, Sami coming to Roman's aid is a bad move. Not only does Roman not deserve the former Intercontinental Champion's help, but there is no guarantee that The Big Dog can be trusted. As a result, Sami must avoid him.
#2. WWE SmackDown is a shorter show and offers less time
The next reason why Sami Zayn should remain on WWE Monday Night RAW and not appear on SmackDown comes down to practicality. While both shows are great, there is a major difference between the two: the lengths of each program.
RAW is a three-hour show, while SmackDown is just two hours long. This means that the red brand can feature more WWE stars, and in longer matches. Alternatively, talented performers such as Giovanni Vinci, Tegan Nox, and others are just waiting around for a chance to be used on SmackDown thanks to the limited time offered.
SmackDown is already extremely stacked with talent and packed with matches and segments. Sami would likely receive less in-ring time and less promo time if he moves to SmackDown right now.
As a result, staying on Monday Night RAW is likely the better move. Plus, stars such as Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, and DIY could suffer if Sami were to take their screen time. Zayn remaining on RAW is what's best for everybody.
#1. Sami Zayn needs to win the World Heavyweight Championship
Sami Zayn has had a lot of success even before joining WWE. As El Generico, he competed in and held gold all over the world. That success was magnified considerably once he joined the Sports Entertainment juggernaut, however.
For example, Sami Zayn is a former NXT Champion, tag team champion, United States Champion, and Intercontinental Champion. The Underdog From The Underground has even headlined WWE WrestleMania alongside Kevin Owens.
One goal Sami has yet to accomplish, however, is winning a world title. Prior to chasing after the Intercontinental Title and defeating Gunther, Sami was looking to become the World Heavyweight Champion.
Now that he has lost the prized Intercontinental Championship to Bron Breakker, he now has the option to pursue the World Heavyweight Title. Choosing Roman Reigns over accomplishing his wrestling dream seems unwise.
