3 reasons why The Rock may not wrestle again in WWE

The Rock has not taken retirement from WWE but might announce it without wrestling his final match. The Brahma Bull returned to in-ring action in 2024, after nearly a decade, but he had to go through a rigorous training session with WWE trainers to perform in a tag team match on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40.

The 52-year-old former WWE Champion last appeared at the Stamford-based promotion at Bad Blood PLE on October 5. The Final Boss is also expected to square off in at least two WrestleManias before calling the day off. However, who knows he might just quit it without going in for a final match.

This listicle will discuss three reasons why The Final Boss may not wrestle again in WWE:

#3. The Rock's Hollywood commitments

Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He has several films in the pipeline like Red One, Moana 2, Monster Jam, and The Smashing Machine. Amidst all of this, it might be extremely difficult for him to train for wrestling.

There were rumors also circulating around earlier this year stating that Rock might not be able to give his dates for WrestleMania 41, as he had a number of Hollywood commitments. Therefore, he might skip 'Mania this year and by next year might announce his retirement.

#2. Potential injury factor

Getting a serious injury during one of the WWE matches is another genuine concern that might propel The Rock to announce retirement without wrestling one last time. He is 52 years old, and taking a bump inside a wrestling ring might not be a prudent decision for him.

Further, he is a Hollywood superstar and has millions at stake due to his movie commitments. A severe injury to his neck could make him bedridden which might further incur losses. Thereby, The Rock might just wind up his wrestling career with an announcement and could be inducted into the Hall of Fame by 2027.

#1 Hard to get in shape at this age

The Final Boss himself recently in an interview admitted that it would be an uphill task for him to get in shape at this age. During a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Rock opened up on the fact that training before a wrestling match is incredibly hard, and the training becomes extensive:

"It’s incredibly hard. The training becomes really extensive, and the training camp becomes extensive."

He added:

"So, I went [to] training camp for WrestleMania, which was about an eight-to-nine week training camp. It’s really fast, and fortunately, I was able to get through it all,” The Rock said.

While he might not have spoken on his WrestleMania 41 appearance, The Final Boss seems to have given an indication that an in-ring return might not be on the cards as of now.

However, The Rock fans always have a glimmer of hope and who knows that maybe for his fans, The Great One may return to the squared-circle.
