3 reasons why fans are comparing Becky Lynch to Stone Cold Steve Austin
With WrestleMania 35 on the horizon, WWE is doing all they can to build up the Raw Women's title triple threat match as the headliner of the show of shows.
In all the hullabaloo surrounding the Women's title, fans are voicing their opinions on Becky Lynch, on social media. There are a plethora of fans who are convinced that the Irish Lass Kicker is a modern-day Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Let's take a look at three reasons why Becky Lynch is reminding the fans of The Texas Rattlesnake.
#3 An anti-authority figure
Over the course of the past several weeks, we have seen Becky do the kind of things Steve Austin was known for.
She has attacked Stephanie and Triple H on separate occasions, and this has resulted in her being arrested by the cops. This scenario is eerily similar to the time when Austin was wreaking havoc on the Vince McMahon and his cohorts, heading into WrestleMania 15.
WWE is hell-bent on portraying Becky as someone who doesn't give a damn about her boss, and this is one of the major similarities between her and Austin.
#2 Becky's recent tweet to Austin
It's a known fact that Becky likes to bury her opponents on social media, with her extremely mean and sarcastic tweets. Imagine Ston Cold having a Twitter handle during The Attitude Era! The kind of stuff he would have done with his account is exactly what Becky is known for doing. She regularly disses Ronda and Charlotte via her tweets.
Recently, Becky sent a direct tweet to none other than The Rattlesnake himself!
She expressed her wish to drink a beer with the Hall of Famer. Austin responded by saying that he would love that, 'cause he is always thirsty. Take a look at the tweet and Austin's reply:
This only fueled the Twitter fire that had been burning for a long time. Fans went nuts on seeing The Man and Austin interacting online.
It won't be surprising if WWE actually goes out of their way in the future and gives us a backstage segment featuring Becky and Stone Cold enjoying a cold one together.
