3 reasons why Seth Rollins became the number one contender for Brock Lesnar's Universal Title
![Set for SummerSlam](https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/07/21e91-15632525276251-800.jpg?w=500)
Seth Rollins had a rough night at Extreme Rules where he lost the Universal Title to Brock Lesnar. The BeastSlayer defended his title in a Mixed Tag Team Match. While Rollins managed to win the match, Brock Lesnar cashed in the Money in the Bank contract after the match. Rollins tried to prevent the Beast but the latter became the champion after delivering two German Suplexes and one F-5.
The new Universal Champion Brock Lesnar showed up on RAW. A ten-man Battle Royal Match was announced to decide the number one contender for Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Ten top-tier Superstars of WWE competed in the match and Seth Rollins was also part of the match. We saw a glimpse of Royal Rumble as Seth Rollins stood tall after elimination the other nine Superstars. The Universal Championship match is confirmed for SummerSlam as Seth Rollins will tussle with Brock Lesnar.
The BeastSlayer already burnt down the Suplex City at the Grandest Stage of Them All, so, it will be interesting to see if we witness a similar scenario at SummerSlam. Here we discuss three reasons why Seth Rollins became the number one contender for Brock Lesnar.
#3 Seth Rollins deserves a rematch
![Well deserved](https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/07/ff60f-15632531412209-800.jpg)
Seth Rollins toiled hard to reach the top of the ladder of the Red Brand. Apart from stopping Lesnar to cash in the contract at Super ShowDown, Rollins defeated AJ Styles and Baron Corbin to retain the Universal Title. The BeastSlayer was a fighting Universal Champion as he defended the belt multiple times. Rollins' maiden Universal Title reign lasted 97 days before losing it to Lesnar at Extreme Rules.
Since Rollins didn't get an automatic rematch after losing the Universal Championship, he certainly deserves to become the challenger for Brock Lesnar. Moreover, the BeastSlayer has an impressive track record against Brock Lesnar and the former is competent of defeating the latter. Considering we are less than one month away from SummerSlam, WWE can write the final chapter of this rivalry.
