3 reasons why the Riott Squad should win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship
The Riott Squad defeated Natalya and Dana Brooke on the RAW after Royal Rumble to qualify for the 6-team Elimination Chamber match to determine the first-ever Women’s Tag-Team Champions.
Fans of the Riott Squad will be curious to see how Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan are booked in the actual match; put differently, it’d be interesting to see if the heel faction which has constantly been used to put over baby-faces throughout 2018 will be booked prominently, or will again suffer with the spotlight being put on bigger and more popular stars.
#3 They are a truly cohesive unit with great potential
Ruby Riott and her squad have consistently been the only true cohesive unit in the women’s division. While most squads at the Elimination Chamber have been put together recently for the championship, this squad have been together since making their debut in November 2017.
The cohesiveness for instance was on full display at the Royal Rumble, as Morgan and Logan accompanied Ruby Riott to the ring, and helped her take out a bunch of women, all along putting on an exceptional act, and being believable baddies.
Often it’s hard to believe best friend narratives in WWE. For instance, in Bayley and Banks’ case, fans always see an inevitable explosion in sight, while Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have had their differences. But the Riott Squad hasn’t shown any cracks even when they have lost.
This fact should be played out leading into the match. And should be a key reason for the Riott Squad to go over the 5 other competing teams.
The Riott Squad has Shield-like tendencies which WWE should be wise to portray on-screen; and what better start than to put the tag titles on two of its members.
