Undertaker's appearance at Raw 25

For those who have lived under a rock these past 12 months, several speculations has been mounting over whether The Undertaker has truly laced up his final pair of boots. Despite his emotional sendoff at the end of last year's event, and the man who beat him; Roman Reigns making a clear point that he retired the Deadman, WWE have never quite put the final nail in his coffin.

Now, as WrestleMania season kicks off, the rumours of a potential match against John Cena have started spreading among the dirt sheets. This match was allegedly supposed to happen at WrestleMania 32, with Cena unfortunately injured for the event.

But is it too late? We all saw how broken Undertaker looked in his match against Roman Reigns last year. In fact, he's looked a shadow of his former self since WrestleMania 30, while laying down his gear, and breaking kayfabe live on air with his wife implied that he had called it a day as well.

Yet, a large portion of fans still clamours for this match, myself included. Cena has made it well known that he's wanted this match, particularly in one of his promo's last year in his stellar feud with the Miz. We all remember how good of a wrestler The Undertaker was, and can still be, and Cena has shown over his career his ability to put on a clinical performance with the right opponent

This WrestleMania could be the chance at providing his fans with one final, glorious match against the WWE franchise himself, John Cena. Here are three reasons why it needs to happen.

#1 The seeds have been sown for the feud

Cena
Cena mocked Undertaker during his program with Reigns

The Cena-Reigns program wasn't exactly incredible. Cena destroyed Roman in terms of mic work, and the match itself wasn't particularly stellar. One surprising thing that did come out of it, however, was Cena mocking Roman's victory against the Undertaker at the previous Wrestlemania. John congratulated Roman on beating a broken old man who needs a hip replacement.

Was it just Cena mocking Reign's accomplishments? Or just maybe, Cena was setting the early seeds for the match. During Raw's 25th anniversary, Taker name dropped a plethora of opponents he has 'buried' during his illustrious career, with Cena's name ominously excluded from that list. With Cena ridiculing Undertaker's physical condition during his promos against Reigns, and Taker's promo of defeated opponents not featuring Cena; the beginning stages of their dream feud has been drawn.
