3 reasons why WWE is pushing Kofi Kingston
From having a solid performance in the six-man Gauntlet match - to an impressive show of resilience inside the Elimination Chamber - to a singles match for the WWE Championship at Fastlane, Kofi Kingston is probably in his best run in his career. It is quite impressive considering the fact that Kingston was not even supposed to be in the Gauntlet match. Mustafa Ali was the scheduled sixth man in the Elimination Chamber match - however, an injury kept him in the sidelines. Kingston got the lot to fill in for him.
Kofi Kingston showed us what he is capable and pulled off a couple of magical performances in just five days. Now, WWE is behind the Kingston hype and is giving him a well-deserved push. In this list, we will take a few reasons why WWE is pushing Kofi Kingston all of a sudden.
#3 The fan support
If you think the fans are totally helpless in making important decisions, then I am afraid that you might be wrong. There are many signs like giving a WrestleMania moment for Daniel Bryan and turning Becky Lynch face that suggests WWE is indeed listening to its fans. Kofi Kingston's case is no different. The Dreadlocked Dynamo had garnered much fan support in a span of five days - thanks to the brilliant booking and awesome execution by WWE and Kingston respectively.
WWE might not have been expecting such massive support for Kingston. The crowd pop for Kingston was very loud, and none of the other participants in the entire Elimination Chamber PPV got a louder pop (except maybe for Becky Lynch). The overwhelming crowd response was not a fluke - as Kingston got some of the biggest pops on the next episode of SmackDown Live as well.
