3 signs Sami Zayn will never win a world championship in WWE

Sami Zayn is currently focused on achieving his goal of becoming a world champion. Even though he has been with WWE for nearly 11 years, Zayn has never held a world title before.

Despite his past failures, he remains determined and unmoved. Currently, Sami Zayn is aiming to return to the championship scene. He has set his sights on Gunther, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion and a former opponent. Unfortunately, his requests for a title shot have been continuously denied by The Ring General, who does not see him as a credible contender.

It is uncertain whether Gunther will agree to the challenge soon. The question that arises now is whether Sami Zayn will ever become a world champion. Below are three reasons why Sami will never have a world title run in WWE.

#3. Gunther tends to have incredibly long title reigns

One of the reasons why Sami Zayn's dreams of a world title in WWE may never come true has to do with the current world title picture. On RAW, Gunther reigns supreme as the World Heavyweight Champion and serves as Zayn's target right now. However, taking the title off him will not be easy. Granted, The Underdog from the Underground was successful in taking the Intercontinental Championship from Gunther at WrestleMania 40, but it took some effort.

That said, the World Heavyweight Championship is a whole other ball game. The Ring General will want to hold on to that title for a while, much like he did with the IC Title and the NXT United Kingdom Championship. Taking that into consideration, it is unlikely that Triple H will take the title off him so soon, as he would much rather give him another incredibly long title reign.

#2. Cody Rhodes is the poster boy for WWE

Along the same lines as the previous reason, Sami Zayn's world title hopes wouldn't be any better if he moved to SmackDown. After all, the blue brand is home to the WWE's poster boy, Cody Rhodes, who is the current Undisputed WWE Champion. If Gunther seems undefeatable, The American Nightmare is on a whole other level.

After completing his 'story' at WrestleMania 40, it seems highly improbable that Rhodes will lose the championship to anyone other than Roman Reigns or The Rock. He embodies the ideal heroic champion. Like with Gunther, Zayn's only chance of becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion is if Rhodes is forced to give up the title unexpectedly.

#1. Sami Zayn's world championship window is closing

The two invincible champions aside, Sami Zayn's own championship window is closing. Now 40, it is clear that his chances of winning the world title are diminishing. While he continues to excel in the ring, WWE may not prioritize making him a world champion, despite past champions being over the age of 40.

Triple H is leading WWE in a different direction by highlighting up-and-coming talents like Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, and Ilja Dragunov. As these new wrestlers become more popular, it's less likely that Zayn will get chances to compete for world titles.

It's a shame, really. Zayn is one superstar that everyone in the WWE Universe would love to see win a world title. But, given the current situation, it just feels highly unlikely.
