3 stars to watch out for at Extreme Rules
This Sunday, streaming live on the WWE Network and on pay-per-view, the eleventh edition of Extreme Rules takes place. The annual event will come from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Extreme Rules is set to run for about five hours, with one hour reserved for the Kick-Off Show.
Thus far, ten matches have been officially announced for the event. Expect WWE to add a couple to the pre-show. WWE's brightest talents will be in action at the pay-per-view. Expectations of the event are high heading into the show.
At Extreme Rules, The Undertaker and Roman Reigns will join forces to face the team of Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in a No Holds Barred tag-team match. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch will put their titles on the line against the duo of Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans in a Winners Take All Extreme Rules match.
Kofi Kingston will look to extend his WWE Championship reign as he squares off against Samoa Joe. Ricochet will defend his United States title against the villainous AJ Styles, who will be flanked by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The SmackDown Women's Championship will be defended in a handicap match between the champion Bayley and the team of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.
There's so much to look forward to en route to Extreme Rules. As SummerSlam is only about a month away, every star in the locker room will be looking to make an impact. Extreme Rules provides the best opportunity for stars to make the greatest impact on the road to SummerSlam.
With that said, let's take a look at 3 stars to watch out for at Extreme Rules.
#3 Drew McIntyre
The most highly anticipated match-up at Extreme Rules is the No Hold Barred tag-team match where the unlikely alliance of The Undertaker and Roman Reigns will square off against the despicable duo of Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon.
Among these 4 stars, McIntyre seems to be the odd one out. All 3 men, other than McIntyre, are established stars whereas McIntyre is still building a name for himself.
However, it is McIntyre who will benefit the most from this match. He will definitely shine against The Undertaker and Roman Reigns. McIntyre will do most of the work for his team as Shane will try to hide behind hm. I expect McIntyre to have a strong showing at the event.
Many are speculating a future match-up between Taker and McIntyre. The tag-match at Extreme Rules may prove to be a catalyst for this dream match. If McIntyre pins The Undertaker, it would establish the Scottish Psycopath as a force to be reckoned with.
