3 stars to watch out for at WWE Stomping Grounds
This Sunday, for the first time ever, WWE Stomping Grounds will air from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. This will be the first edition of the event and will stream live on the WWE Network, which is absolutely free for new subscribers.
Many of WWE's top stars will be in action at the event, including Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kofi Kingston, Becky Lynch, Daniel Bryan, and many others. 9 matches have been scheduled for the event and these are as follows:
- Bayley (c) vs Alexa Bliss for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship
- Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre
- Becky Lynch (c) vs Lacey Evans for the Raw Women's Championship
- Seth Rollins (c) vs Baron Corbin for the Universal Championship (A special guest referee of Baron Corbin's choosing will call the match)
- Kofi Kingston (c) vs Dolph Ziggler in a Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship
- Samoa Joe (c) vs Ricochet for the United States Championship
- The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
- Tony Nese (c) vs Drew Gulak vs Akira Tozawa for the Cruiserweight Championship
- Daniel Bryan and Rowan (c) vs Heavy Machinery for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship
All WWE stars will look to make an impact at the pay per-view as WWE gets ready for the summer. Among these stars, I have shortlisted three who are most likely to make an impact at the inaugural Stomping Grounds event.
#3 Shane McMahon
This name was always going to be on this list, given that he's been a part of WWE's hottest story-lines this year. Shane is embroiled in a deeply personal feud with Roman Reigns and Shane's friend (at least according to Shane himself), Drew McIntyre, will take on Roman Reigns at the event.
It's almost certain that the match between Roman and Drew will not have a definite winner and will end in controversy. Roman attacked Shane this Monday on Raw and Shane would definitely be seeking revenge. This makes Shane's involvement even more likely.
Reigns and Shane could continue to feud through the summer, and an interference from Shane on Sunday would help further their feud.
