Money in the Bank first pay-per-view after the Show of Shows, the fans were eagerly waiting for the show. The company did not let down the fans as we saw a great event.

The show took place at XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Eleven matches were on the card with two Money in the Bank Ladder matches. Since Becky Lynch defended her two belts on the same night, all eyes were on The Man. Becky Lynch put her RAW Women's Title on the line against Lacey Evans. The Man overcame the Sassy Southern Belle but the former failed to defend her SmackDown Women's Championship successfully. Charlotte Flair became a nine-time Women's Champion after defeating Becky Lynch.

On the other hand, Bayley won the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match. Interestingly, The Queen could not celebrate her victory for a long time as Bayley cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase and became the SmackDown Women's Champion. Bayley grabbed the most coveted women's title of the blue brand for the first time in her career.

Here, we discuss three possible theories why Bayley won the SmackDown Women's Title at Money in the Bank.

#3 To avoid another title reign of Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair won the Women's Title nine times, while she grabbed the blue belt five times. The Queen's previous title reign was before WrestleMania when she defeated Asuka to win the SmackDown Women's Champion. The Women's roster is stacked with some talented Superstars and a majority of fans are tired of seeing Charlotte in the title picture.

Charlotte Flair has been in the main roster for just four years but she is already a nine-time women's champion. There is no denying that Charlotte is extremely talented in the squared circle, but it is tedious and fans might love to see a new champion.

Bayley's last singles title reign was in 2017 when she won the most coveted women's title of the red brand. Considering the Hugger is also a fan favourite, it could be a fresh sight to see her as the SmackDown Women's Champion.
