3 things Roman Reigns can do on WWE SmackDown this week
Last weekend at Survivor Series, Roman Reigns alongside The Usos, Sami Zayn, and CM Punk was victorious inside WarGames against the new Bloodline led by Solo Sikoa.
The match ended a chapter in the ongoing feud between the original and new-look Bloodline, with the OGs proving that they are still the top dogs in the family.
With Roman now toppling the new Tribal Chief, fans are wondering what is next for the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Therefore we are going to look at three things The Head of the Table could do on SmackDown tonight.
#3. The OTC and the Samoan Werewolf set a date
One of the biggest debuts in WWE this year was undoubtedly the arrival of the Samoan Werewolf and the powerhouse of the new Bloodline, Jacob Fatu.
The 32-year-old has shone on the blue brand despite only being on the show for just over six months, with him having competed against some of the best that WWE has to offer.
While Solo Sikoa currently resides as the leader of the Bloodline, Jacob Fatu has grabbed a lot of fans' attention from his looks as well as his skills in the ring.
One person who has been very impressed with Jacob Fatu is the WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray (a.k.a Bubba Ray Dudley), who sang the Bloodline member's praises on an edition of Busted Open Radio.
[Fatu] commands the spotlight," Ray said. "There are those that demand the spotlight as in 'Hey, pick me, pick me! Spotlight, come over here. Highlight me!' And there are those who just go out there, do it, and the spotlight finds them. The spotlight finds Jacob Fatu."
The final major WWE show of 2024 is Saturday Night's Main Event, which is set to take place on December 14.
With the show only a week or so away and with only four matches currently on the card, fans may see Roman Reigns look to end the year on his terms with him challenging Jacob Fatu to a match at the show tonight on SmackDown.
Since making his return at SummerSlam this year, fans have been chomping at the bit to see Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu face off in a singles match.
#2. Roman Reigns has a question for The Wiseman
One of the biggest question marks following Survivor Series: WarGames last week was the destination of Paul Heyman's loyalty.
The Wiseman to Reigns' Bloodline recently returned on SmackDown where he revealed that his longtime friend and former client CM Punk would be the fifth member of Roman's team at Survivor Series, much to the chagrin of the OTC.
Following their victory inside WarGames, CM Punk told Heyman that he owes him a favor at some point. Whether that be a championship match or help from OG Bloodline we will have to wait and see.
One person who will certainly not want to do a favor for CM Punk is Roman Reigns, with the Tribal Chief seeming reluctant to team with the Chicago native both before and after WarGames.
With Roman's concern around Punk's and Paul Heyman's rekindled partnership growing, fans could see Reigns confront the Hall of Famer on SmackDown tonight to ask him if his loyalties still lie with him and the OG Bloodline or whether or not they are back with The Second City Saint.
#1. The OTC lays out his road to WrestleMania 41
Since he returned to WWE in 2020 and debuted his Tribal Chief character Roman Reigns has walked into WrestleMania every year since as the champion.
However, in 2025, things will seemingly be different for him as he will not be holding gold ahead of the show of shows. In addition to WrestleMania, another Premium Live Event that Roman Reigns will not hold gold at will be the Royal Rumble.
The Royal Rumble is set to take place on Saturday, February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The winner of the men's rumble match will book their spot for the main event of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas in April.
With no championship currently around the waist of the OTC, Roman will have to find a different method than he's been used to make sure that he is in a major title match at WrestleMania. Therefore on SmackDown tonight, Roman Reigns could declare himself for the Rumble match next year.
If the OTC does appear in the Rumble match it will be the first time he has competed in the marquee battle royal since 2020. Despite this time away, the OTC is certainly no stranger to the contest having finished as a runner-up in the match on four separate occasions as well as having won the match in 2016.
