3 things WWE got right at Stomping Grounds 2019 and 2 things they got wrong

WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 is in the books, and it seems fans are impressed.

The first show under the name, the night saw a mix of action and effective storytelling, with the event ending with WWE's hottest power couple standing tall. In addition to that, a huge WWE title match saw Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston battle it out in a Steel Cage, and new champions emerge both on the kickoff and main shows.

But not everything went according to plan at Stomping Grounds as the show had some pitfalls. Here are three things that the WWE got spot on during their first ever Stomping Grounds pay per view, as well as two things that could have been a whole lot better.

#3 Got it right: New Champion emerges in epic war

Ricochet captured his first title on WWE's main roster at the expense of Samoa Joe

Ricochet may have only found out he would be facing Samoa Joe for the United States title a matter of days ago, but the Aerial Assailant clearly did his research on the now-former Champion.

Meeting at Stomping Grounds, the pair meshed surprisingly well together, as the towering Joe was able to flatten Ricochet's quick-pace momentum. Picking up the win, this is Richochet's first title reign on the WWE main roster, and in a company which is constantly criticized for being "the same old, same old", this change is a blessing.

It seems the new champion even has his first feud lined up with AJ Styles and the Club, as the new holder of the Star Spangled strap is beginning to realize it's easier to win a title than keep it.

A great match, a great title change, a great follow-up. Great!
