3 things WWE should do to build Kevin Owens as the top babyface of the company
With Seth Rollins apparently turningheel and Kofi Kingston back on the mid-card, WWE has an open spot for the top babyface of the company. The most promising contender for that spot right now seems to be Kevin Owens.
However, WWE needs to be very careful in booking Owens as a top 'good guy' as the company has a history of booking babyfaces poorly that leads the fans to eventually turn on these Superstars.
Kevin Owens has been a heel throughout most of his career. He returned as a face earlier this year, but turned character a little while later owing to Daniel Bryan's injury that saw Owens occupying the spot of the top heel on SmackDown.
However, since his feud began with Shane McMahon, Owens has played the role of an anti-hero, and is slowly being pushed as a top face on the Red Brand.
It seems that the time has finally come for Kevin Owens to claim the top spot. Owens has all the skill to be the face of the company, he is a tremendous in-ring competitor, can cut amazing promos, and on top of all that he has a special connection with the fans.
On that note, here are three ways as to how WWE can book Kevin Owens going forward, in order to make a case for him as the top babyface of the company.
#3 Coming out strong against Seth Rollins
The rivalry between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins began on RAW last week when Rollins hit two stomps on Owens after their match. These two are expected to go at it in the coming weeks and with AOP's involvement, we can expect some controversial finishes.
Regardless of the outcome, WWE must not book Owens as a pawn just to establish Rollins as a heel. This is a perfect opportunity to simultaneously build up both Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.
WWE should ensure that the two Superstars put on a quality match and book the clash such that in the end, Owens picks up a well-deserved victory.
