WWE is like a weekly soap opera, that goes on forever without taking a break, with new storylines replacing the old ones and new superstars emerging to replace the stars of the past.

Over the course of WWE's storied history, the company has given us a plethora of memorable moments and matches that fans love to revisit and marvel at the pageantry of it all.

On the other hand, WWE sometimes goes too far with storylines and ended up upsetting the fans. There have been countless moments in the past where WWE took it too far and was berated by the WWE Universe.

Let's take a look at three such moments.

As WrestleMania 13 approached near, the plan was to pit Shawn Michaels against Bret Hart in a rematch from WrestleMania 12, with Bret Hart going over.

The plans ended up getting cancelled on an episode of Monday Night Raw, where Shawn Michaels made a mockery of real-life injuries. Shawn addressed the crowd, stating that he wouldn't be able to make it to Mania, thanks to a knee injury.

He went on to say that he has lost his smile, and was going to take some time out to get better and come back with a bang. The emotional speech from the Heart Break Kid was met with a chorus of cheers, and there wasn't a face in the crowd that wasn't shedding tears.

The truth was far from that though. In reality, Shawn didn't want to lose a match at the grandest stage of them all to his arch nemesis, Bret Hart. Bret ended up tearing the house down with Stone Cold Steve Austin at 'Mania. In order to prevent this match from happening, he came up with this "losing his smile" schtick and played with fans' emotions.

Shawn went on to have a legendary career, but the second half of his career saw him transform into an entirely different person. He wasn't known to be the best kind of person in his first run.
