The Bragging rights 2009 event was a 14- man tag team elimination match between RAW and SmackDown.

Several shows prior to the event, Kane and Chris Jericho collectively declared themselves as co-captains for SmackDown as Shawn Michaels and Triple H declared them co-captains for RAW.

Jericho threatened to put down Team Raw down as Smackdown members came down one by one. Triple H, came to the rescue as he took out the SmackDown team to match the 7-on-7 situation.

This fight between the two brands will be remembered because it was not one of those useless fights where Superstars don’t care about the shirt they are wearing. This was an actual fight for supremacy between brands where each Superstar had been chosen carefully for either his dedication to his represent brand or betrayal by the other brand.

The match would end with Big Show turning on Team RAW by delivering a chokeslam to Kofi Kingston. Triple H confronted Big Show who would deliver a knockout punch to The Game. Jericho would go on to pin Kingston to win it for Smackdown.
