3 Unexpected returns that can happen at WWE Crown Jewel 2024
WWE Crown Jewel 2024 will emanate from Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh on Saturday. With a star-studded match card backed by incredible storytelling, fan interest is high in the premium live event.
Top names like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Gunther, LA Knight, The Usos, Nia Jax, and Liv Morgan among others have been confirmed for the show. While this should be sufficient to entertain fans, Triple H has spoiled the WWE Universe recently with some earth-shattering returns.
Roman Reigns returned as the OTC in the main event of SummerSlam 2024. Last month at Bad Blood, The Rock showed up with a cryptic message for Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and the returning Jimmy Uso. Therefore, fans are understandably expecting a few surprise comebacks in Saudi Arabia.
Let's look at three unexpected returns that can happen at WWE Crown Jewel 2024.
#3 Omos returns to help Carmelo Hayes win the US Championship
Carmelo Hayes will have the opportunity of a lifetime on Saturday when he battles LA Knight and Andrade in a Triple Threat Match for the coveted United States Championship. Knight, as champion, has been on a roll, and it's always difficult to bet against El Idolo.
Melo seems like the underdog heading into the United States Title bout, but the former NXT Champion may have a colossal trick up his sleeve. His ambitions have led him to adopt cowardly, villainous tactics, and he could take these antics to another level at WWE Crown Jewel.
Omos could appear to help Melo win the US Title. The Triple Threat stipulation would let The Nigerian Giant wreak havoc without causing a disqualification finish. The dirty finish would protect Andrade and Knight.
The former Tag Team Champion has been used sparingly this year, last appearing in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. However, Omos has much to offer and could be beneficial for someone like Melo.
The Nigerian Giant was brought up to the main roster as AJ Styles' bodyguard. Hence, he has performed the role of an insurance policy before. WWE could recreate the same dynamic between Omos and Melo, beginning with the former's comeback at WWE Crown Jewel 2024.
#2 Drew McIntyre returns at WWE Crown Jewel
Bad Blood featured a violent Hell in a Cell match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. The bout was so brutal that both men took time off following the showdown.
Punk announced that he would be going away on the RAW after Bad Blood. Meanwhile, McIntyre has not been seen on TV since losing to the Straight Edge Superstar. Naturally, The Scottish Warrior is healing from his wounds, and selling his injuries.
McIntyre's return could be on the horizon. The two-time WWE Champion needs to move out of Punk's shadow and embark on a different path. McIntyre's path to recovery could begin at WWE Crown Jewel.
The Scottish Warrior could appear in a backstage interview or cut a promo in the ring in front of the live crowd, declaring his intentions of re-entering the world title picture. Alternatively, he could make a bigger impact by confronting Gunther upon The Ring General's match with Cody Rhodes.
#1 Paul Heyman returns as The Wiseman of The Original Bloodline
The Original Bloodline has officially reunited with Jey Uso agreeing to fight with Jimmy and Roman Reigns to take down Solo Sikoa's Bloodline. Sami Zayn's involvement is unpredictable, but another old member could soon re-enter the fray.
Paul Heyman was last seen in June when he was viciously assaulted by Solo Sikoa and his henchmen after he refused to acknowledge Sikoa as The Tribal Chief. Now that the OTC and The Usos are back on the same page, it is time for The Wiseman to re-emerge to plan the ultimate revenge.
The Father of ECW could casually return with the original Bloodline to announce Reigns' arrival. Alternatively, he could make a surprise appearance at the last minute to cost Sikoa a major win at WWE Crown Jewel.
