3 ways WWE can make us believe Finn Balor will defeat Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble
Finn Balor is set to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
Whilst a lot of fans want Finn Balor to win, it is far more likely that Brock Lesnar will emerge victorious.
Brock Lesnar has been the most protected Superstar on the entire roster since his WWE return in 2012. He has won 3 world championships in that time. He has only been defeated by five men, and holds at least one victory over each of those men.
The list of men he has defeated reads like a future WWE Hall of Fame - John Cena, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Big Show, Kane, Goldberg, CM Punk, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and The Undertaker. The last name on that list is especially impressive because he first defeated Undertaker by ending his 21-0 undefeated WrestleMania streak.
Finn Balor made his main roster debut with a lot of hype surrounding him. He obviously had potential. It looked as though he would quickly realize that potential when he became the first ever Universal Champion in his first ever pay-per-view match.
Unfortunately, he was forced to relinquish it due to injury, and his has been a tale of "what if" ever since. Even though he has pinned the likes of Seth Rollins, John Cena, and Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar versus Finn Balor looks to be a massive mismatch.
Finn Balor's fans believe he has a chance. I want to believe that he has a chance.
The WWE can help us all believe he is a threat by presenting him the correct way on Monday Night RAW tonight.
Let's take a look at how they can do that.
Paul Heyman Does Paul Heyman Things
There is nobody who can sell a match quite like Paul Heyman. He is quite simply put, the very best the business has to offer in that department. Do you know why all of Brock Lesnar's victories seem so big, even when the result looks like a foregone conclusion? Paul Heyman.
Paul Heyman talks up Brock Lesnar's opponents, magnifies their strengths, and builds anticipation for the eventual match. If anybody can sell us on Finn Balor being a legitimate threat to Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship, it is Paul Heyman.
