Absolutely anything can happen in the WWE.

Any time, any place, anywhere.

Monday Night RAW is WWE's flagship show, and traditionally, the most shocking WWE moments have happened on it. Seth Rollins destroyed the Shield on Monday Night RAW. Shane McMahon returned after seven long years on Monday Night RAW. Stone Cold Steve Austin first gave a Stone Cold Stunner to Vince McMahon on Monday Night RAW. The Shield reformed on Monday Night RAW. Mankind won the WWE Championship on Monday Night RAW. Eric Bischoff, the scourge of the WWE, and mastermind behind WCW's success showed up on Monday Night RAW.

All of these moments were genuinely shocking. Not many saw them coming. Moreover, all of these moments drastically changed the landscape of the entire WWE.

Monday Night RAW has seen many shocking moments. It has seen many exciting moments.

But what about Smackdown Live?

Could we see something shocking or exciting on this week's episode of Smackdown Live too?

Let's find out.

#1 Mr McMahon makes a WWE Championship match

Daniel Bryan is set to defend his WWE Championship against AJ Styles at the 2019 Royal Rumble. It is a match between two of the best wrestlers of all time.

Tonight, on the Royal Rumble go home show, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will moderate a face-to-face between the champion, Daniel Bryan, and challenger, AJ Styles.

Daniel Bryan is now the New Daniel Bryan, an annoying, delusional, angry heel who talks down to the crowd every chance he gets. He hates consumerism and will be in the ring with a man who very much embodies it, Vince McMahon.

AJ Styles is a WWE babyface. That means he will pander to the crowd, crack corny jokes for a cheap pop, and look to insult Vince McMahon. AJ Styles also attacked Vince McMahon a few weeks ago on Smackdown Live.

It is likely that one, or both of these superstars will insult Vince McMahon at some point. What if he responds by booking them in a WWE Championship match later in the night?

There is a past precedent for this as demonstrated in this very feud. Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles have already had two WWE Championship matches on Smackdown Live, and Bryan won the WWE Championship in the second of those matches. This led to a scheduled, advertised bout between Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles to be changed to Brock Lesnar versus Daniel Bryan five days before the event.
