5 Worst WWE Women's matches at WrestleMania
If rumours are to be believed, the WWE RAW Women's Championship match is going to headline WrestleMania 35. It will be historic for female wrestlers everywhere if the biggest event in wrestling ends with either Ronda Rousey, Charlotte or Becky Lynch holding aloft the Women's title to put the exclamation point on the show.
There was a time not long ago that women's matches at Wrestlemania were just speciality matches intended as nothing more than a breather between high stakes matches involving men.
While it is certainly an improvement to see women's wrestling being taken seriously in the WWE, it cannot be appreciated to the full extent unless we look back at how the Divas were treated in the first place.
This list takes a look at three worst Women's matches in Wrestlemania history
#5 Miller Lite Pillow Fight - Wrestlemania 19
Wrestlemania 19 was a strong even, headlined by an all-time classic between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar and supported by the final confrontation between Austin and The Rock, Jericho vs Michaels and Hogan vs McMahon, the card was favorably rated by critics.
A stacked roster meant that the World Tag team title match featuring Kane and Rob Van Dam vs The Dudley Boyz vs Chief Morley and Lance Storm was sadly relegated to Sunday Night Heat. But what did air on the main show was the ridiculous fatal four-way pillow fight featuring Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler and two models from a Miller Lite Beer advertising campaign.
It was nothing more than a publicity stunt and WWE did make sweet money from Miller Lite for allowing the models to show up and have a match at WrestleMania. But it was a stinker of a match, which wasn't even contested inside the ring - but near the stage.
The match ended in a no-contest when all four ladies attacked host Jonathan Coachman and pinned him, but it was the sell-out crowd in Seattle that were the real losers.
