3 WWE factions that could break up before SummerSlam 2024
SummerSlam, the Premium Live Event regarded as WWE's biggest carnival of the summer, is just a month away. With the ongoing feuds and storylines reaching their crescendo, the exhilaration and excitement of the fans are at an all-time high for The Biggest Party of the Summer. However, the WWE Universe could see some major factions implode before the grand spectacle.
Tensions have been brewing within numerous factions on both RAW and SmackDown, which seems to be heading into a treacherous situation. While the Stamford-based promotion has already teased the implosion of a few groups on the roster, others are inconspicuously heading down the same path.
Let's look at three factions that could break up before SummerSlam 2024.
#3. The Pride
'The Pride' is a SmackDown faction consisting of Bobby Lashley, the Street Profits and B-Fab that came together nearly a year ago with heel intentions. However, the audience's reactions compelled them to turn into babyfaces. However, the faction could soon split apart, with all members going in their own individual directions.
Lashley is currently away from WWE television due to injury. On the other hand, the Street Profits have been seen getting involved in the tag team division in The All Mighty's absence. It looks like Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have found their pace and might rise again as a tag team.
They seem to be slowly detaching themselves from the shadows of The Pride in Bobby Lashley's absence. B-Fab is also part of the stable but has only rarely received any screen time. Thus, the breakup of 'The Pride' might also boost her singles career and bring her the needed opportunities for her to grow.
#2. Damage CTRL could break up before SummerSlam
Damage CTRL is heading toward a state of anarchy as there have been several hiccups within the group lately. Kairi Sane and Asuka losing their tag team championships, Dakota Kai's losing record, and IYO SKY herself suffering from losses and missing out on opportunities have led to unrest within Damage CTRL.
There have been numerous instances when the faction was on the verge of implosion. Moreover, The Genius of the Sky has been teasing a potential split of the heel faction as she spoke about bringing about a change. It's quite possible that she could kick Dakota Kai out of the group and embark on revitalizing her singles career.
On the other hand, Kai may outsmart the former WWE Women's Champion, as the latter has been constantly creating mayhem. There's a good possibility that Damage CTRL could implode before SummerSlam this year, having major implications for The Biggest Party of The Summer.
#1. The Judgment Day could implode
Out of all the factions, The Judgment Day's breakup seems to be the closest to the horizon, and we could very well see this implosion occur before SummerSlam. It is quite obvious that Damian Priest dislikes the change the stable has undergone. After readily accepting JD McDonagh into the group and somehow agreeing on Carlito's inclusion in the faction's affairs, The Archer of Infamy is against the idea of Liv Morgan taking Rhea Ripley's spot.
Although Dominik Mysterio seems to be on the same page with Priest, it could be a matter of time before he aligns with Morgan, as the latter has been trying to allure him. Finn Balor also seems to be at loggerheads with Damian Priest and is rumored to be the mastermind behind all the drama that has been unfolding lately.
With SummerSlam season approaching, Balor could turn on The Punisher as he seems skeptical of the latter's allegiance to The Judgment Day. This could eventually lead to the genesis of a blockbuster rivalry between Damian Priest and Finn Balor which may culminate at SummerSlam.
