3 WWE stars who were instantly buried

WWE has a wide and diverse array of superstars on its roster, including former champions, legends, new faces, and many more. However, despite being a pro wrestling juggernaut, the company has a history of mishandling and burying talented superstars, leaving their potential unfulfilled.

There have been numerous times when the Stamford-based promotion fumbled to harness the talents' full potential and ended up making huge creative missteps. The most recent example of this was seen on the latest edition of SmackDown when WWE squashed a superstar's highly anticipated return.

Let's look at three WWE stars who were instantly buried.

#3. Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross is one of those superstars who fell prey to WWE's miserable booking, as he was buried instantly upon his main roster debut. The Doom Walker made his WWE RAW debut on July 19, 2021, where he competed against the legendary Jeff Hardy. Back then, Kross was the reigning NXT Champion and was riding high on momentum.

However, he got pinned by Hardy in under two minutes on his main roster debut, which was the harbinger of his downfall. What was supposed to be a thunderous declaration of his arrival turned into a calamity. The Vince McMahon-led creative completely floundered with his potential, unable to capitalize on his raw talent and hot momentum.

With his intimidating persona and distinctive bald look, Karrion Kross was poised to dominate the WWE landscape, as he had everything to be a top star. However, his lackluster booking crippled his momentum, and Kross was never able to push his career up from that point. WWE's failure to capitalize on him remains a stark reminder of the company's mismanagement of talents.

#2. Blair Davenport

Blair Davenport is another active superstar on the list who became a victim of WWE's poor booking. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the 28-year-old was instantly buried on the main roster upon her SmackDown debut. Davenport competed in a Money in the Bank qualifying match against Naomi and Indi Hartwell in her in-ring debut match.

While WWE had everything to push her and make her a top star on SmackDown, the company booked her to lose on her main roster debut. She also lost her second consecutive match as she suffered a defeat against Naomi. It was quite a preposterous move that hindered Blair Davenport's momentum.

WWE's poor booking of the former NXT star was a huge blunder. Davenport's main roster career, which once looked promising, is now hanging in a precarious state due to the company's creative misstep.

#1. Returning WWE Superstar Giovanni Vinci

One of the biggest disappointments came on the latest edition of SmackDown when WWE squandered Giovanni Vinci's highly anticipated return. For weeks, the company had been hyping up his comeback on the blue brand. However, the Triple H-led regime instantly buried the 34-year-old upon his return.

Vinci's highly anticipated SmackDown debut became a disaster as he lost his first match on SmackDown against Apollo Crews in just three seconds. It was indeed a hugely controversial move that once again raised questions about WWE's creative decisions under the Triple H-led regime.

The company seems to have made a huge blunder with the former Imperium member mishandling his highly anticipated return on SmackDown. Will Giovanni Vinci be able to recover from this? Only time will tell.
