3 WWE stars who could miss Bash in Berlin
WWE Bash in Berlin is the next Premium Live Event on the calendar after SummerSlam 2024. This is a historic occasion as it will mark the first time the Stamford-based promotion heads to Germany for a PLE.
The company has already announced Gunther vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship for the event. Other prominent stars like Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley, and CM Punk will likely have an important role to play at the upcoming PLE.
However, despite the historic PLE's significance, a handful of stars would have to miss Bash in Berlin.
#3. Giovanni Vinci
Giovanni Vinci was ousted from Imperium on the April 23 edition of Monday Night RAW. Ludwig Kaiser unleashed a heinous assault on his former friend, to the approval of Gunther. Vinci has not been seen since the betrayal.
As mentioned, The Ring General will be in action at Bash in Berlin. Kaiser will also be involved in some capacity, either as Gunther's sidekick or in a singles match. But, either way, it doesn't seem like Vinci will join his former Imperium brethren in Germany.
The former NXT North American Champion is of Italian origin. Considering his classic brand of wrestling and the European touch to his persona, Vinci would have been a popular pick for the German crowd.
#2. A legitimate injury may keep Jacob Fatu off the card for Bash in Berlin
As expected, The Bloodline got involved in the main event of SummerSlam 2024 between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa. Unfortunately, the interference didn't run well, especially for Jacob Fatu, who may have suffered a legitimate injury.
The Samoan Werewolf landed awkwardly on his leg while putting Rhodes through the announce table with a massive Splash. He was later seen wearing a walking boot, indicating that the injury was legitimate.
Fatu is also one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions and the Enforcer of The Bloodline, making him indispensable. However, his leg injury could force him to sit out of the upcoming German PLE.
#1. WWE may be saving Roman Reigns' in-ring return for a much bigger occasion
After months of loud "We Want Roman" chants, Roman Reigns finally returned home at SummerSlam 2024 to take down Solo Sikoa and help Cody Rhodes retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The direction seems clear: Reigns and Sikoa are on a collision course to determine the legitimate Head of the Table and Tribal Chief of The Bloodline. However, Triple H might want to save the former Universal Champion's in-ring return for a bigger occasion.
Bash in Berlin is only a few weeks removed from SummerSlam, and stars like Gunther can be relied upon to draw in fans. Therefore, there is insufficient time to build for Reigns' first match from hiatus, and WWE can still attract fans in his absence.
Reigns' return bout could be saved for the upcoming Saudi PLE or held off till Survivor Series 2024. However, Germany may not witness The Original Tribal Chief in in-ring action.
