5 WWE stars who can end Triple H's career
Triple H is one of the most consistent performers in the history of pro-wrestling, and his 14 World Championship reigns are the testament to that. He has headlined WrestleMania, WWE's flagship pay-per-view, a record seven times, and is regarded as one of the all-time greats. HHH was a major element in uplifting the wrestling business during the Attitude Era, and since then has become a fixture of the company's main event scene.
Even at 48, Triple H is in great shape and can go for a few more matches before he ultimately retires. He is set to partner up with his wife, Stephanie McMahon against the team of Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34.
He has been the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative for WWE since 2013, as well as the founder and senior producer of NXT. With him getting more into the business aspect of WWE, the in-ring retirement angle should be on the cards soon.
Here are five superstars who are best suited to bid farewell to 'The King of Kings'.
#5 Bobby Roode
Bobby Roode signed with WWE in 2016 and began his career in NXT where he became a one-time NXT Champion, prior to his main roster call-up. His time on SmackDown Live has not been the best considering his United States Championship reign lasted only 54 days.
Roode was a dominant heel champion in NXT, something which he has not replicated on the main roster. His babyface run has been unappealing, and the WWE Universe would want to see him turn heel again.
For years Roode’s character outside of WWE has resembled that of Triple H’s during his prime. Be their appearance, style, moves, or attitude, Triple H and Bobby Roode are contrastingly similar to each other.
Bobby Roode teased a feud when Triple H was announced as the final member of Team Raw for Survivor Series. The staredown between them during the match was a monumental moment for the fans. WWE needs to book a feud between the two superstars and put Roode over to push him up to the main-event scene, and have a perfect torch-passing moment.
Roode has the prospects to be the game-changing performer in WWE. A heel turn is what got him over, and him retiring Triple H will make him the top villain of the company.
