3 WWE stars who Vince McMahon will never make Universal Champion & 3 he will
The WWE Universal Championship has been the symbol for excellence on Monday Night RAW since August 2016. For nearly three years, we've only gotten a handful of champions, but the names in the lineage are certainly impressive.
While the title hasn't fared well because of two extensive Brock Lesnar title reigns, the good news it that it's going to be property of full-time superstars going forward. It certainly will be interesting to see who gets chosen to become Universal Champion, but even in May of 2019, it's clear as to which superstars have big plans for them.
Unfortunately, not every top star will be able to become Universal Champion in the future. There are certain top stars who will never taste the gold, even if fans desire to see that. Here are a few superstars who will win the Universal Championship in the future and a few who definitely won't.
#3. Will never - Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman should have been Universal Champion in 2017. And then he should have been Universal Champion in 2018. WWE had a full two year span where Strowman was essentially the hottest star of the company.
Unsurprisingly, they not only failed to capitalize on his red-hot momentum, but they used him as a feeder to Roman Reigns and then to Brock Lesnar. He still managed to recover and even win the Money in the Bank briefcase- - which many assumed was a guarantee that Strowman would win the title.
Unfortunately, that never turned out to be the case and from potentially being one of the greatest "big men" of all time, Strowman looks to be heading the unfortunate path of a giant who fell victim to WWE's terrible booking.
We sincerely do hope that Strowman becomes Universal Champion someday, but it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen.
