WWE had an average year, as the ratings were substandard, but the WWE Universe witnessed numerous top-notch matches. Nonetheless, next year is expected to be better. The McMahon family appeared on Raw a few weeks ago, and promised a better product.

Numerous incidents happened in 2018 - such as Roman Reigns relinquishing the Universal title due to illness, and leaving the company temporarily.

Also, Bobby Lashley and Rey Mysterio returned to WWE, performing on Raw and SmackDown Live respectively. Shawn Michaels ended his retirement, and he had a match against the Brothers of Destruction at Crown Jewel. Ronda Rousey also made her debut in WWE, and she is presently the Raw women's champion.

The first women's Royal Rumble match was introduced this year, and WWE showcased the first ever all-women pay-per-view, Evolution, and it had the first-ever last woman standing match.

Many superstars achieved success this year. However, a lot of talented superstars were underutilised.

Here we discuss three superstars who could shine in 2019.

#3 Rusev

Rusev Day!
Rusev Day!

Rusev is one of the most popular wrestlers of the blue brand. He had an ordinary year because he didn't have a notable feud, but he ended the year on a high, as he won the US title.

Rusev made his main roster debut in 2014, and he had a memorable start to his main roster career, as he had an unbeaten run which lasted over a year. His first US title run lasted 146 days, and he lost the title to John Cena at WrestleMania 31. Rusev has won the US title thrice, and he is the current champion.

Rusev's third title reign is expected to be impressive, and his career might get back in the right direction. Nakamura's title reign was bland, and WWE will be aiming to bring back the prestige of the US title.
