3 WWE Superstars who are rumored to join AEW and 2 that won't
Since the inception of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), WWE’s tension has been increasing. The newly formed promotion has already signed many notable superstars and now, they have even gotten a television deal with TNT.
In just a few days, AEW will host their first ever show, Double or Nothing. They have already sold out the stadium but to do it consistently, Tony Khan has to spend some more money and sign more talents.
As of this writing, many WWE Superstars are unhappy with their position in the company, and they could be heading to AEW soon. While Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks are already seeking to sign more superstars, not everybody would get a chance to join AEW. In this article, we will look at 3 WWE Legends who could join AEW soon and two that are unlikely to do so.
#3 Rumored to join AEW - Goldberg
Goldberg is going to make his in-ring return at WWE’s upcoming Super ShowDown pay-per-view, where he will face The Undertaker for the first time ever. The former Universal Champion had his final outing in 2017, where he lost against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.
Even though Goldberg is returning to WWE, he is heavily rumored to join Tony Khan’s AEW. As per the rumor, the WWE legend hasn’t signed a long-term contract with WWE which means that he could quickly jump ship to AEW.
It’s understandable why AEW wants to sign the former World Champion. Goldberg was the biggest Superstar in WCW, and he helped the promotion gain more ratings. When WCW ran out of business, he joined WWE in 2003 but didn’t compete in many matches. Fans also complained about Goldberg’s performance in the ring and why his bouts mostly end in less than 10 minutes. It would be interesting to see if AEW would book him to squash wrestlers or to compete in longer matches.
