3 WWE Superstars who will win their first singles championship in 2025

With the end of 2024 fast approaching, it is time to look ahead and speculate about what fans may see in WWE in 2025. A new year offers a fresh start for us all, and in the world of professional wrestling, many superstars prioritize winning a championship as it offers them the chance to move higher and higher up the card.

A championship win also puts a superstar in a much higher spot in the eyes of the fans. Therefore we are going to take a look at three performers who could win their first singles title in 2025.

One of the biggest stories in WWE in recent months has been the announcements from both Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis that the company is set to introduce brand-new championships in the women's division.

The titles are the Women's Intercontinental Title on RAW and the Women's United States Championship on SmackDown.

Currently, both brands have tournaments underway as they look to crown the inaugural winners of the respective titles.

On the RAW side of things, one star who sadly failed to win her tournament match for the IC Title is Zelina Vega.

The LWO member has shown over the past year and a half that she can shine as a top babyface, most notably when she feuded with Rhea Ripley at Backlash last year.

With the talent both in the ring and on the mic to back her up, Zelina Vega could very well hold the Women's Intercontinental Title in 2025.

Speaking on WWE's The Bump, Zelina Vega spoke about her championship aspirations as well as stating why her size and stature should not make people think she is any less capable of winning gold.

"Of course I can become champion. Why not? Let me guess, because I'm short and because I've never won singles gold before? That about cover it? Well, once I take those bombs away from the people trying to come against me, it allows me to detonate mine. It seems like people forget sometimes who I am, and what I've done, and why I've done this to begin with."

One person who many fans are hoping to become the first-ever Women's United States Champion is Chelsea Green.

Whilst she is still in the tournament on SmackDown, she could find herself losing her match, whether it be against Bayley in the semi-finals or in the final on Saturday Night's Main Event.

Despite her possibly losing in the tournament, one person who believes she is destined to win the Women's US Title is the former WWE head writer Vince Russo. The veteran recently labeled Green winning the championship a no-brainer while speaking on BroDown.

"This is such a no-brainer. Tiffany has the (Money in the Bank) briefcase. So, Tiffany doesn't need the (US Championship) belt. Get Tiffany and Chelsea to the finals. Get Chelsea over." [21:01 onwards]

Whilst Russo and many others think she will, it is not a guarantee. Despite this, given the huge amount of support she has from fans both in the arena and online, do not be surprised if you see Chelsea Green with singles gold around her waist at some point in 2025.

#1 - Michin's hard work pays off

Like Chelsea Green, another superstar who is currently involved in the tournament to crown the first-ever Women's United States Champion is Michin.

Michin has been a part of WWE consistently since 2018, and in that time, has come extremely close on several occasions to winning a championship.

The Women's United States Title offers up the chance for superstars who may not yet be considered by the fans or those in the back as a main event caliber superstar to gain some credibility within WWE.

During a recent SmackDown Exclusive interview, Michin stated why winning the Women's Unites States Championship is so important to her.

"I fumbled my opportunities to become the first-ever Women’s NXT North American Champion. This time, I will not fumble becoming the first-ever Women’s US Champion. This is not a want, but a need. I will be the first."

Similar to Green, with this championship being well and truly up for grabs in 2025, Michin will undoubtedly be a contender for it over the next 12 months in WWE.
