4 Biggest Mistakes WWE made at WWE Super ShowDown

WWE Super ShowDown had its share of mistakes!

After the conclusion of the third Saudi Mega event in WWE history, WWE Super ShowDown, I'd say it was a decent show. While there's no point in even comparing it with AEW Double or Nothing, it did deliver what it was meant to - entertainment.

There were some epic moments, confrontations, faceoffs, etc that will be remembered for a long time by the fans. At the same time, some of the matches were decent as well, with the Intercontinental Title bout between Finn Balor and Andrade, and the match between Triple H and Randy Orton standing out.

But there were a lot of things that should have been avoided on the show to make it more enjoyable and meaningful. In this article, let's take a look at the 4 Biggest mistakes WWE made at WWE Super ShowDown.

#5 Lars Sullivan not having a dominant PPV debut

Lars Sullivan made his WWE PPV debut at Super ShowDown as he faced the trio of The Lucha House Party in a 3-on-1 handicap match. This was an opportunity for WWE to build a monster (or a "freak") by letting Lars have a dominating victory over the Luchadors.

Instead, we saw a DQ finish to the match as all the Lucha House party ganged up on Lars, causing a disqualification. While we still saw the Freak take out the trio after the match, I believe he could have done this after defeating them as well.

Continuing the feud against the Lucha House doesn't sound like a great way to utilize Lars as he should be facing better opponents to establish himself as a top guy. The longer this feud continues, worse for Lars.

#4 Constantly comparing the show with WrestleMania

One of the biggest mistakes, and quite an irritating one, that WWE made was constantly comparing the PPV with WrestleMania calling it as big as the Show of Shows.

Other than the amazing and huge high-budget set, there's hardly anything where the show should be compared to WrestleMania. At max, it can be considered as a glorified live event.

WWE tried their best to make it feel huge with some special entrances and huge matchups, but comparing it with the Showcase of Immortals hurt both this show as well as WWE's original biggest event, WrestleMania.
