4 Biggest things WWE could be planning on RAW this week (19 August 2019)
WWE had a fantastic week as Toronto hosted four awesome shows. While SummerSlam was an excellent PPV, RAW was equally good last week. The company is gradually building storylines for Clash of Champions, which will take place next month.
After a gap of four years, King of the Ring tournament will return next week. The company announced it last week and eight Superstars from the red brand will participate. Sasha Banks, who was away from the ring for a long time, made her long-awaited return last week. Drew McIntyre took revenge for his previous loss last week when he defeated Cedric Alexander.
Following a humiliating loss against Goldberg, Dolph Ziggler easily lost to The Miz last week. The recently crowned Women's Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defended the twin belts successfully against the Kabuki Warriors. Moreover, Seth Rollins and AJ Styles tussled in the main event, but the match ended in no contest.
The next RAW will be held at the XCEL Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The first round of King of the Ring tournament will be held on RAW this week, while Braun Strowman is scheduled to face AJ Styles for the US Title. A number of exciting things could happen on the Red Brand this week.
Here we discuss four things WWE could be planning on RAW this week.
#4 Johnny Gargano returns to the main roster
Johnny Gargano, who mainevented NXT TakeOver: Toronto, challenged Adam Cole for the NXT Title. It was certainly the match of the night as the two men offered another classic match. Following the loss, Gargano bid farewell to the NXT Universe. The gesture suggests a main roster move for Gargano.
Though it didn't happen on RAW last week, we might see him this week. Gargano already made his main roster debut earlier this year. However, he didn't stay long, as he went back to the developmental brand. The former NXT Champion probably had unfinished business with Adam Cole. Considering Gargano is the first-ever triple crown champion in NXT, he is certainly a big name.
If Gargano returns to the main roster, he could face some notable names. In my humble opinion, Rey Mysterio could be an ideal choice to be his first rival. Since Mysterio put over Andrade in recent weeks, he could do the same for Gargano so the latter could make an excellent first impression.
