4 biggest WWE breakout stars of 2024
2024 has been one of the best years in WWE history, with the Stamford-based promotion scaling new heights in and out of the ring. With stars like The Rock, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair on offer and storytelling arguably at its most compelling since The Attitude Era, the company has been breaking records left and right.
In addition to utilizing its already-established stars to drive business, Triple H and Co. have done an excellent job of creating new stars. Established competitors such as Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Damian Priest were finally crowned champions, while new blood was also integrated from NXT and other promotions. However, a select group of stars who debuted in 2024 made an immediate impact, quickly becoming indispensable.
Let's take a look at the four biggest WWE breakout stars who made their main roster debuts in 2024
#4: Jade Cargill has become a two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion since her Royal Rumble 2024 debut
Jade Cargill signed with WWE in late 2023 to massive buzz, receiving the red carpet treatment from the company. The Storm's first few months in the Stamford-based promotion saw her make appearances across all three brands, teasing blockbuster feuds with an array of top stars in the division. Ultimately, with all three brands' General Managers chasing her, she ended up signing for SmackDown.
Her in-ring debut with the company came at the 2024 Royal Rumble, where she entered the women's Rumble and made it to the final three in an impressive showing. That blockbuster introduction set the stage for an incredible year headlined by her first WrestleMania match and two reigns as Women's Tag Team Champion with Bianca Belair.
The Storm is currently sidelined due to a parking lot assault by an unknown assailant in the lead-up to Survivor Series. This could set up a huge singles storyline heading into 2025 and WrestleMania 41 season, building on Cargill's breakout year by establishing her as a bonafide main-eventer.
#3: Tiffany Stratton has enjoyed a meteoric rise in her first year on the WWE main roster
Jade Cargill was not the only woman who made such an impression in the 2024 Royal Rumble that Adam Pearce and Co. offered her a contract. The aftermath of the iconic PLE also saw Tiffany Stratton get recruited by Nick Aldis, earning herself a call-up from NXT to SmackDown.
She fit right in, holding her own against much more experienced stars and receiving one of the biggest reactions from the Perth crowd at the Elimination Chamber PLE. Fast forward to Money in the Bank, not only did Stratton qualify for the eponymous match, but she won it on her first try! The Buff Barbie is now on the cusp of cashing in on Nia Jax and winning her first world championship.
If this massive achievement is not realized in 2024, next year will likely be Tiffy Time for the WWE Women's Championship.
#2: Jacob Fatu has taken WWE by storm in less than half a year
Jacob Fatu debuted in WWE on June 21, 2024, coming to Solo Sikoa's aid by single-handedly laying out Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton. The Samoan Werewolf's signing had been reported in April and hype for his debut was sky-high, yet he took it in his stride and immediately showed that he belonged with the highest level of superstars the company had to offer.
He made his in-ring debut at Money in the Bank in a six-man tag team match, which the new Bloodline won. Barely a month later, he was briefly a tag team champion with Tama Tonga before Sikoa ordered him to relinquish his title to 'The Infamous' Tonga Loa. Fast forward to the end of 2024, and Fatu has headlined two PLEs, won a title, and faced the likes of CM Punk and Roman Reigns.
The 32-year-old is special, and 2024 has been his year to announce himself to the WWE Universe, who can't wait to see what 2025 holds for him.
#1: Bron Breakker has had an incredible rookie year on the WWE main roster
From the moment Bron Breakker debuted on WWE NXT in 2021, the audience could tell that he was headed for big things in the Stamford-based promotion. The Unpredictable Bad*ss' freak athleticism, raw strength, and ferocious aggression earned him comparisons with legends like Brock Lesnar. Sprinkled on top was a brash personality reminiscent of his father and uncle, Rick and Scott Steiner.
Breakker was a pillar of the NXT main event scene for over two years, reigning as a two-time champion for over 420 combined days, the second most ever. Having made sporadic main roster appearances as an NXT talent, he officially joined the main roster on February 16, 2024, signing for SmackDown.
The Big Bad Booty Nephew established himself on the blue brand with squash victories, but it was when he was drafted to RAW that he began to soar. In seven months on the red brand, Breakker has defeated Sheamus, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and more, becoming a two-time Intercontinental champion. Could he become world champion in 2025?
