4 blockbuster feuds teased on SmackDown for WWE Clash at the Castle
WWE Friday Night SmackDown aired on the FOX Network last night, and it was a big show. The road to the 2024 King and Queen of the Ring continues with a strong emphasis on high-quality bouts for both main roster brands.
While that's fun for the time being, the King and Queen of the Ring is next weekend, and immediately after comes the next Premium Live Event: Clash at the Castle Scotland. This big show will be just three weeks after the Saudi Arabia event.
Naturally, it would be difficult to build up a compelling show in just three weeks. Instead, Triple H and company officials are likely building towards a number of matches on RAW and SmackDown week in and week out with the goal of having built-up stories for Scotland.
There's a strong chance that several blockbuster feuds were teased or built up on SmackDown this week with the goal of having a bout at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event. This article will look at four potential feuds that could end up being added to the next big show.
Below are four blockbuster feuds teased on SmackDown for WWE Clash at the Castle.
#4. Things got heated between Jade Cargill and Nia Jax
As noted, the upcoming Premium Live Event is the 2024 WWE King and Queen of the Ring. As the name suggests, the show will crown the next King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring. Tournament matches have taken over television throughout the past few weeks.
The quarterfinals were held this week, and one bout in particular had an explosive finish. Nia Jax and Jade Cargill were competing, and after Nia yelled at Jade's daughter, things got out of hand and a steel chair was used by Cargill. This led to Nia winning by disqualification, but the two continued brawling.
There is clear animosity between the two powerhouse wrestlers, and WWE could be planning to have them clash at a big-time event in Scotland. Jade and Nia Jax being a non-title feud would be fun, especially if it made it to a Premium Live Event.
#3. Logan Paul and LA Knight had a staredown backstage
Logan Paul is the reigning United States Champion. He won his first title in WWE around six months ago by defeating Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel 2023. He has since successfully defended the belt against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.
An interesting segment took place on SmackDown last night. He was going to Nick Aldis' office, presumably to complain about something, when LA Knight walked out. The two men then had a tense staredown that Nick Aldis broke up.
Many fans have been begging for LA Knight to be the one who dethrones Logan for his United States Championship. If this encounter was any indication, they could soon be clashing over that title, and it could happen as soon as Clash at the Castle Scotland.
#2. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill showed some tension
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are two incredible athletes. Both women are unbelievably strong, but also more agile than one would expect. Both Jade and the EST of WWE are also in fantastic shape. They recently started teaming up as a tag team.
The two are good together too. The pair united with Naomi to defeat Damage CTRL at WrestleMania. The pair then went on to dethrone The Kabuki Warriors and win the WWE Women's Tag Team Title at Backlash: France.
Not everything appears to be perfect with the two, however. They had a backstage segment prior to Jade losing to Nia that teased the duo potentially clashing next week in the semi-finals. While that isn't happening now, the tense interaction could lead to the pair having a dream match in Scotland.
#1. LA Knight vs. Carmelo Hayes was teased on WWE SmackDown
LA Knight had a busy night on WWE SmackDown. Not only did he wrestle Tama Tonga and deal with The Bloodline, but he had the aforementioned staredown with Logan Paul. Even that isn't quite all he did, though.
The Megastar had a few tense meetings with Carmelo Hayes. The cocky former NXT Champion bragged about being a first-round Draft pick, and LA Knight put Melo in his place. Once Knight lost, he and Carmelo had another segment, with this one being more heated.
Due to how heated this immediately got, it feels likely to be blown off in a big way sooner rather than later. With Clash at the Castle being just three weeks away from next Saturday, the Premium Live Event would be the perfect place for them to go at it.
