4 Current WWE stars that have surprisingly never competed in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match

The Money in the Bank Ladder Match has altered careers. Edge, Seth "Freakin" Rollins, and CM Punk were all launched into the stratosphere of pro wrestling by the coveted briefcase, which contains a contract for a World Title match at the time and place of the winner's choosing.

The field for the ladder match typically ranges from six to eight competitors, allowing a wide array of mid-card talent and top-tier stars to compete for the contract. Consequently, many veterans have competed in an MITB Ladder Match over the years despite never winning it, e.g., Kofi Kingston.

However, the WWE roster is stacked, and not every talented star can be booked to battle for the briefcase. Let's look at four current stars who have never competed in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

#4 Despite a 14-year run, Jimmy Uso has never competed in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Jey Uso will compete in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Saturday. Riding on a wave of momentum, Jey is one of the top favorites to win the contract.

While Main Event Jey Uso has certainly found his rhythm as a top singles star, his twin brother, Jimmy Uso, has struggled to find his footing. Jimmy was excommunicated from The Bloodline by Solo Sikoa in April and has not been seen since the assault.

Jimmy is no slouch in the ring, and he possesses undeniable charisma. Despite all these attributes, Rikishi's son has never competed in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Granted, for more than a decade, The Usos were a staple in the tag team division. However, WWE has given individual members of factions opportunities in the high-stakes ladder match. Kofi Kingston (The New Day) and Cody Rhodes (Team Rhodes Scholars) have previously participated in the contest despite being tag team competitors.

What's more, is Jimmy's long tenure. He has been with WWE since 2010. One could argue that the SmackDown star would have received an opportunity if he hadn't fallen with an injury, but his booking suggested otherwise.

Jimmy Uso could find his way into the MITB Ladder match next year with better booking and more opportunities as a singles star.

#3 Xavier Woods is the only member of The New Day to have not competed for the Money in the Bank contract

Kofi Kingston is a veteran of the MITB Ladder Match, having participated in the bout seven times, a record he shares with Kane. Big E, The Powerhouse of Positivity, won the briefcase in July 2021 and cashed it in the same year to become WWE Champion.

However, Xavier Woods has not nearly been as lucky as his fellow New Day stablemates. Not only is Woods the only member to not win the WWE Title, but he also hasn't participated in the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

Woods is criminally underrated. The former Tag Team Champion would certainly be a joy to watch in the Ladder Match. His risk-taking approach suits the nature of the bout, and he would certainly provide a few highlight-worthy moments.

WWE could have easily handed one of Kingston's appearances to Woods. The New Day had to select one member among themselves to compete in the 2018 Men's MITB Ladder match. Kingston stepped up, but Woods could have easily filled his partner's shoes.

#2 Gunther could excel in an MITB Ladder Match

Few men possess the same in-ring abilities as Gunther. The longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion and current King of the Ring has been a dominant force on the main roster for more than two years.

The Ring General has been protected, receiving a sizeable push on the main roster. Despite the company's faith in Gunther as a top star, they have never picked him to participate in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Considering that he is already King of The Ring, Gunther is already due a World Title opportunity at SummerSlam. Therefore, it wouldn't have made sense for him to wrestle for the briefcase this year.

Furthermore, The Austrian Anomaly is a pure professional wrestler with a mat-based style. Gunther doesn't need weapons to inflict damage and thus relies heavily on his skill, technique, and power. As a result, surrounding him with ladders may contradict his character.

#1 Dominik Mysterio would make a wonderful Mr. Money in the Bank

Rey Mysterio's son, Dominik Mysterio, has grown out of his father's enormous shadow. As part of The Judgment Day, Dominik has grown to become a credible star with enormous heel heat.

Furthermore, his ring work has improved. Damian Priest became SeƱor Money in the Bank last year, and he now holds the World Heavyweight Championship. With Rhea Ripley injured, this could have been the ideal opportunity for Dominik to step into the main event scene.

The former NXT North American Champion could have entered the MITB Ladder Match and won the briefcase. With The Judgment Day in his corner, he would have certainly become world champion.

Yet, WWE chose to keep him out of the MITB ladder match this year. Furthermore, despite receiving plenty of attention and growing as a star, Dominik Mysterio didn't receive the same opportunity in the preceding three years.
