4 Possible challengers for Cody Rhodes following WWE Clash at the Castle Scotland - Leader of major faction, former champion

WWE Clash at the Castle Scotland was a great night for many stars. The Unholy Union's Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn won the prized Women's Tag Team Title in front of their friends and family in Glasgow.

One man who had a tough night, but one that ultimately worked out in his favor is Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare battled AJ Styles in a brutal "I Quit" Match this past Saturday. In the end, a battered and bloody Rhodes stood tall and forced The Phenomenal One to give up.

After the match, The Bloodline attacked the Undisputed WWE Champion. Thankfully, Rhodes had some help from two former world champions and he could walk out of Glasgow on his own two feet. All in all, it was a good time for the second-generation star.

Now, all eyes are on who he may fight next. He defeated Roman Reigns for the gold and has since defended it against AJ Styles and Logan Paul. Who will be next to try to dethrone Dusty Rhodes' son? This article will tackle four possible challengers for Cody Rhodes following WWE Clash at the Castle Scotland.

#4 Solo Sikoa has made it clear that The Bloodline is gunning for Rhodes

Solo Sikoa has undergone a significant presentation change in recent months. Amid The Rock and Roman Reigns' WWE hiatuses, Sikoa has stepped up and declared himself the new leader of The Bloodline.

The Street Champion of the Island made his presence known at WWE Clash at the Castle Scotland. Following Rhodes' victory over AJ Styles, Sikoa confronted him alongside Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa in what turned out to be a big brawl.

Given that Sikoa seemingly aims to dethrone Rhodes, it would make sense if he was the latter's next big feud. This would be a major test for The Tribal Heir, as some doubt his potential as a main event talent. How will the new Head of the Table do against The American Nightmare? Fans would be intrigued to see them lock horns.

#3 Randy Orton seemingly eyed Rhodes' title

Randy Orton is one of the greatest superstars in the history of WWE. He is a 14-time World Champion, who has headlined WrestleMania, won the Royal Rumble Match, and achieved almost everything there is to do.

The Viper and Kevin Owens came to Cody Rhodes' aid when The American Nightmare was attacked by Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline at WWE Clash at the Castle Scotland. However, there was a questionable moment some fans noticed and discussed on social media.

Orton was seen staring at Rhodes' title for a little too long. The lingering stare may show his intention to challenge The American Nightmare and become the new champion. Given their storied history together, a feud would be fascinating to witness.

#2 Tama Tonga could be Rhodes' surprise challenger

Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline is making a splash on WWE SmackDown. After removing Jimmy Uso from the group, the former NXT North American Champion soon added Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to the fold.

While Solo Sikoa is positioned as the leader, many believe Tama Tonga is the most interesting and perhaps the most talented member of the WWE faction. Given his experience and commitment to the character, these beliefs may be well founded.

Instead of Solo Sikoa being Cody Rhodes' next challenger, perhaps it should be Tama. This could allow Sikoa to be his challenger later and push Tama to the next level, making him a top guy on the blue brand.

#1 Carmelo Hayes is quickly rising through the ranks in WWE

Carmelo Hayes is the future of WWE. While on the NXT brand, he managed to hold both the North American Championship and the NXT Championship. He dabbled with the main roster before officially joining SmackDown a few months ago.

Melo is quickly rising through the ranks on Friday Night SmackDown. Despite not having a strong win-loss record, Hayes has been competing with top names like LA Knight, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens on the blue brand. Hence, he's quickly becoming a key player on the brand.

It would make sense for him to move up to the next level and feud with Cody Rhodes. Outside of an awkward botch, the two had a really good bout on SmackDown. As a result, they'd no doubt top the performance if booked to lock horns at a major premium live event.
