4 Reasons why Penta El Zero Miedo should go to WWE: Dream feuds, a new regime & more

Two recent reports about Penta El Zero Miedo (Pentagón Jr.) could indicate his future with WWE and AEW. One noteworthy takeaway is that he was reportedly unhappy with not being able to appear on AEW shows when CMLL stars were booked. CMLL and AAA (Pentagon's home promotion in Mexico) have shared animosity toward each other for years.

Another report mentioned that WWE would be very interested in Penta if he ever became a free agent. That will be the case as his current contract expires between August and September 2024.

The Stamford-based promotion was in the running to secure his services before AEW's formation. He should take his talents to WWE for the next four reasons.

#4. Triple H will book him better and more consistently

Triple H has changed several things in the New Era.

Bookers for any company will probably treat the top stars the same. Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair have still been used atop WWE under Triple H.

The main changes in the New Era have involved popular stars that Vince McMahon may not have pushed. The Game has a different vision and one that values in-ring talent and storytelling over how big a star is. It's why he's featured Ricochet, Chad Gable, LA Knight, Zoey Stark, Lyra Valkyria, and others recently.

The Game has also shown that he's willing to let stars return to home promotions for a huge event. Shinsuke Nakamura went back to Japan for the Great Muta's retirement, and IYO SKY will compete at an upcoming Marigold event. Jordynne Grace has been used in a relationship between WWE and TNA Wrestling.

#3. Penta's usage and booking in AEW have been inconsistent

With the number of singles titles in AEW (four), it's a bit shocking that Pentagon has never captured one. He was one of the big names that helped set the foundation of AEW back in 2019. Due to his star power and international recognition, his winning percentage would have been among the best in AEW.

However, that's far from the case. Wins and losses seem to be so important to the new company, but one of its top stars has a career-winning percentage of 59%. That's worse than Evil Uno (66%), Luchasaurus (73%), Preston Vance (70%), and Austin Gunn (82%), all of who have over 100 matches.

He is a former Trios and Tag Team Champion but has never truly been pushed as a top star. Despite his early spot in AEW, he's seen other names surpass him and win gold (Edge, Will Ospreay, Wardlow, Sammy Guevara, Swerve Strickland, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, and others).

#2. He's been used in team action more than in singles action

More often than not, Pentagon and Rey Fenix have teamed together as both the Lucha Brothers and Death Triangle. Each star competes in singles matches sporadically. Penta did so following many of the injuries Fenix has suffered while a member of AEW.

In IMPACT Wrestling, Pentagon won tag team gold as well as the World Championship. His tag team feuds with OVE and LAX were among the best of the last decade.

If he comes to WWE, he'd primarily be a singles star and could revisit any tag team partnerships should Fenix follow him. NXT needs more main-event level stars and Pentagon would be a perfect fit to join them.

#1. WWE offers several new and exciting feuds

Gunther and Pentagon both like to blast their opponents with chops to the chest.

The Lucha Brothers' feuds with FTR and The Young Bucks are some of the best in wrestling history. Since 2019, the duo has also battled Best Friends, House of Black, and other teams.

WWE would offer a plethora of enticing new feuds for Pentagon as a singles performer. Outside of stars from Lucha Underground like Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar, Pentagon has not crossed paths on a huge stage with many stars in the company.

Feuds with names like Seth Rollins, LA Knight, Gunther, Kevin Owens, and many others would be on the table with a move to WWE. He could revisit earlier angles with Mysterio and the LWO as well as Legado Del Fantasma. Pentagon worked with Karrion Kross in AAA and could oppose Cody Rhodes in a new setting.
