4 reasons Roman Reigns should win the Universal Title at the Greatest Royal RumbleĀ
WWE's Greatest Royal Rumble is a matter of weeks away, and while fans are still trying to recover from this year's WrestleMania, the event is quickly turning into one of the biggest of the year.
One of the biggest matches on the show is a rematch from WrestleMania 34, one which will pit reigning Universal Champion Brock Lesnar against Roman Reigns. The two men's match at WrestleMania 34 was nothing if not divisive, with many fans, myself included, pretty angry at the way the match went down.
Instead of the Roman Reigns victory many expected, the WWE decided instead to have The Big Dog kick out of 5 F5s and get busted open, only to end up eating the pinfall anyway. It was a strange decision from the company, but one that many fans expect was used as leverage as they decided to negotiate a new deal with Lesnar.
Lesnar's reign as Universal champion feels like it has lasted forever, and in many ways, it has hindered the main event division on Raw. There is, however, plenty of speculation that Lesnar will drop the belt in Saudi Arabia in a few weeks, giving the live crowd a memorable moment, and crowning a new champion in the process.
While fans may resent the idea of Reigns being champion, there are plenty of others who will be glad to see Lesnar's reign of tyranny come to an end. There are many arguments as to why Reigns should walk away victorious on April 27th, so let's take at three of the best.
#1 His last chance
While Roman may have kicked out of 5 F5s at WrestleMania, he still lost and took one hell of a beating in the process.
Reigns and Lesnar had only met one time prior to their match at WrestleMania 34, and due to Seth Rollins' cash-in, the finish was never decisive. If Reigns loses to Lesnar again at The Greatest Royal Rumble, then realistically, there is no way anyone will buy him beating Lesnar again.
Reigns has to come out of this match victorious, and the cage match gimmick at least allows Lesnar to lose without taking the pinfall. There is some speculation that Lesnar's contract is very short, and if that is the case, having him go over Reigns again wouldn't be a smart move.
