4 replacements for Cody Rhodes at WWE Bad Blood if he backs out of teaming with Roman Reigns

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are two of the hottest acts in WWE presently. Both superstars are excellent inside the squared circle. Their main event bouts at WrestleMania 39 and 40 were critically acclaimed face-offs, and fans were hooked from beginning to end.

Fast-forward to the present day and they could give fans something that many would never have expected, teaming up to fight a common foe: Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline at this year’s Bad Blood.

Before it became official, Cody Rhodes had been clear that he would not team up with Roman Reigns adding that he was done with The Bloodline. However, it does appear that the WWE Universe will be treated to this unlikely alliance in action.

But what if The American Nightmare backs out? Who will The Original Tribal Chief team up with? In this article, we will discuss a few possible replacements, in the event such a situation did occur.

#4. Jey Uso

Former member of The Bloodline, Jey Uso, has been extremely over with the WWE Universe lately and has been doing an incredible job with his singles run.

He just won a tournament and earned the right to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship, currently held by Bron Breakker. In a surprising move, the title match was scheduled for RAW this coming week and not WWE’s upcoming premium live event, Bad Blood, scheduled for next month.

If Rhodes backs out and the creative team opts for Uso to replace him, there is still time to build up an angle to make Main Event Jey and Roman Reigns team up.

The animosity between the former Bloodline stablemates is bound to remain and this angle could be a long shot, but it isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

#3. Jimmy Uso

Jimmy Uso has been missing from WWE television after he was taken out by Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga in the aftermath of WrestleMania XL. It has been months since that fateful day and fans believe that the superstar’s return is on the horizon.

Similar to his brother, Jey, his relationship with Roman Reigns has also been uncertain by the time WrestleMania XL came around. However, The Head of the Table has a simpler task of convincing Jimmy as opposed to his twin.

It would come as a surprise though if Jimmy shows up to replace Cody Rhodes, should the latter back out from the upcoming Tag Team Match. However, such a decision would probably be popular with the WWE Universe.

#2. Roman Reigns could team up with new blood

Talks have been rife that more Anoa’i family members could be WWE-bound. It was already reported that Lance Anoa’i, Zilla Fatu, and Hikuleo could be joining one of the hottest narratives in professional wrestling currently.

Among the three, Hikuleo is likely to be introduced to the WWE Universe soon. For those unaware, he is the son of Haku and a brother to Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.

Some pundits believe that the towering competitor could be joining The Bloodline alongside his brothers, though some reckon that he could be siding with Roman Reigns.

#1. Sami Zayn is also a good replacement for Cody Rhodes

Sami Zayn has issued a challenge to the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, who is yet to accept. However, things might change if he gets entangled in The Bloodline saga and forms an alliance with Roman Reigns.

In a recent Metro interview, Jey Uso revealed he would be interested in getting involved in The Bloodline storyline and added that if such a decision came to fruition, he would take Zayn with him. He highlighted though that he doesn’t have any idea when or how it could happen, but expressed his excitement about other Anoa’i family members potentially entering the fray.

During his time with the faction, Zayn had proven that he had what it took to be a member of The Bloodline. Additionally, he also served somewhat as a voice of reason within the stable where he could talk things out to avoid further escalation among his stablemates.
