4 Shocking Shane McMahon moments in WWE you probably forgot about

WWE legend Shane McMahon is currently the talk of the wrestling world. This is because of news that broke on Wednesday morning. According to reports, Shane O'Mac had a meeting with All Elite Wrestling's President Tony Khan.

Since the news broke, numerous reporters, analysts, and wrestlers have discussed the possibility of McMahon joining the Jacksonville-based promotion. Even CM Punk briefly got in on the conversation.

For now, however, McMahon's future isn't certain, and only time will tell if he ends up working with AEW. What isn't in doubt, however, is the legacy he has forged in World Wrestling Entertainment. The daredevil has been part of some of the most insane moments in wrestling history.

This article will look at four moments from McMahon's WWE career that will leave fans shocked. Some may not remember these, thanks to how much time has passed, but they will certainly recollect these huge moments as their memories are sparked. Arguably, each incident is crazier than the last.

Below are four shocking Shane McMahon moments in WWE you probably forgot about.

#4. Shane has jumped off the Hell in a Cell cage twice

Shane McMahon was a daredevil in his early years. When he returned to WWE television in 2016, some believed that those days were long behind him. That couldn't be further from the truth, however, as he took incredible risks during his latest run. This includes jumping off of the Hell in a Cell structure twice.

His first time doing the unthinkable was at WrestleMania 32 when he and The Undertaker clashed inside Hell in a Cell. The pair broke from the cage and fought, with Shane laying The Deadman out on the announce table. From there, McMahon climbed to the top and crashed through the table after The Phenom moved.

His second time was a similar song but a different verse. He took on Kevin Owens in a Hell in a Cell Match in 2017. Shane O'Mac again jumped from the top of the dangerous structure, but Sami Zayn pulled Owens away and McMahon once again crashed hard onto the table.

#3. He wrestled his own father

WWE held the WrestleMania 17 event on April 1, 2001. This show aired live from the Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas, and over 67,000 fans were reportedly in attendance. The main event saw The Rock and Steve Austin go at it.

Perhaps the best-remembered match of the night was sheer insanity, as Shane McMahon wrestled his own father, Vince McMahon. There had been constant family drama over a few years, and it boiled over into a Street Fight.

The bout ended up being bloody and featured Mick Foley as special guest referee, Trish Stratus, Stephanie McMahon, and even Linda McMahon all getting involved. In the end, Shane won with a brutal Coast-to-Coast dropkick in what was a shocking bout, to say the least.

#2. Kurt Angle brutalized Shane O'Mac at the 2001 King of the Ring

Speaking of shocking bouts, Shane McMahon had one of the most brutal and vicious wrestling matches in WWE history not too long after WrestleMania. The King of the Ring took place on June 24, 2001.

This card, held at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey, saw Shane McMahon take on former WWE Champion Kurt Angle. Like the previous entry, this match was a Street Fight.

The brutal and bloody bout featured one of the most insane spots in wrestling history. Angle repeatedly tried to suplex Shane McMahon through a glass screen, but it refused to shatter. A bloody Shane landed on his head and neck repeatedly as Angle attempted it over and over. Eventually, McMahon was just thrown through the glass instead of being suplexed.

#1. Shane McMahon took a "leap of faith" at WWE Backlash in 2001

While Shane McMahon has been in numerous exciting, scary, and dangerous matches, nothing was more intense than his bout at WWE Backlash 2001. It was at that event that Shane McMahon battled Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match.

Accompanied by Test, McMahon did his best to thwart the angry giant. This led to the stars fighting up towards the Titantron. From there, Big Show was left lying, and Shane did what would later become a familiar climb.

Shane O'Mac climbed to the top of the set and, in a shocking moment, dove with a Leap of Faith Elbow Drop. He nailed The Big Show, and thanks to help from Test, Shane was able to just barely get to his feet and win the match. The dive was truly insane, and Big Show was equally crazy for lying there to take it.
