4 Signs CM Punk will return as the final member of Roman Reigns' WarGames team at WWE Survivor Series
WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2024 is rapidly approaching. This Premium Live Event will be the final main roster PLE of the year and the promotion intends to go out with a bang thanks to a massive match announced.
A Men's WarGames Match will be taking place at the Canadian show. Roman Reigns' Original Bloodline will be taking on The New Bloodline in a five-on-five bout. Reigns is set to be joined by Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn. Solo is joined by Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
Notably, there are only four stars announced for each side. Both Roman's version of the group and Solo's have attempted to recruit someone to join each team, but both WarGames alliances have been unsuccess. With that being said, there are signs that Roman's crew could land CM Punk.
The Voice of the Voiceless has been absent from television for over a month now, but a return at Survivor Series WarGames makes a lot of sense. This article will look at why Team Roman Reigns' Bloodline may end up with CM Punk on their side for one night only.
Below are four signs CM Punk will return as the final member of Roman Reigns' WarGames team at WWE Survivor Series.
#4. Paul Heyman's WWE return is being teased and he could solve the fifth man problem
Paul Heyman has been absent from WWE television for many months now. During an episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the former owner and operator of Extreme Championship Wrestling was brutally attacked by Solo Sikoa and company.
While he's been out ever since, his return has seemingly been teased. Roman Reigns, for example, has mentioned missing or otherwise needing a Wiseman on more than one occasion. In fact, Roman has outright said that things he needs in WWE would be accomplished if Heyman was there.
That kind of tease is likely a sign that Paul will soon arrive and fix the issue of a missing fifth man. The best way for Heyman to fix that problem is by recruiting CM Punk for the spot. Punk is perfect for the role and the next entry will demonstrate why that is.
#3. CM Punk just so happened to reunite with Heyman and wanted to protect him before Paul was assaulted
CM Punk and Paul Heyman have a long history together in WWE. Heyman brought The Voice Of The Voiceless to the ECW brand, which re-launched in 2006. From there, Heyman and Punk became close friends and were closely tied throughout much of their tenure in the company.
After Punk left WWE, some wondered if the two would ever interact again. Thankfully, it happened earlier this year when Punk and Heyman hugged. Solo Sikoa's Bloodline then threatened them both, with Paul asking for CM Punk to protect him and take him with The Straight Edge Star.
Punk failed in protecting Heyman, but the two reuniting and Paul putting his trust in the former world champion speaks volumes. If Heyman comes back, he'll need to be protected. Now, CM Punk can come through and help his long-time friend and mentor out.
#2. Survivor Series WarGames marks one year after his surprise return
CM Punk being back in WWE still doesn't feel real to many. In 2014, he and the Sports Entertainment juggernaut had a very public and messy split. It seemed as if he was never going to come back to his home promotion.
That changed last year as he was infamously fired by Tony Khan of AEW. Shortly afterward, he made his return at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023 as a massive surprise.
One year later, it only makes sense for Punk to have a major role on the same show. He could even show up last minute as a surprise, re-creating the incredible scene from last year. If the previous hints are accurate, Heyman could even be who reveals Punk's spot on the team.
#1. CM Punk is reportedly scheduled for the show
The final indication that CM Punk will be part of Roman Reigns' WarGames team at Survivor Series is based on recent advertising promoting an upcoming return and a report highlighting whether he'll be at Survivor Series or not.
CM Punk has been announced for the Holiday Tour around Christmas. This means a return to WWE television is certainly happening fairly soon. Beyond that, a report has stated that The Voice Of The Voiceless is scheduled for Survivor Series.
If Punk is wrestling next month and he happens to be scheduled for Survivor Series WarGames already, it only makes sense for him to step into the dangerous cage. With all of the other factors lined up, it seems quite likely he'll be Roman's fifth man.
